We are tossing the idea around of staying there in Oct. for 5 nights. I haven't really been on Dis lately to follow any threads about the new villas/studios TIA

It's not hard right now. Sales are slow and the property isn't fully declared yet. The limitation of either a studio or the bungalows makes it a tough choice as well. That said, that could all change next year, so if you want to give it a try, I'd say this is probably the year to do it. I'm figuring the Poly will end up being the "fall back" resort for folks who wanted to get into the Grand and couldn't, but we'll have to see how it all shakes out.

If it isn't hard now, when they declare additional units, it will be even easier to book.

No. There are two sorts: Standard, and Lake. Due to the Bungalows, Lake View can be disappointing, and there are Standard View that have castle view. So it varies.

Thanks. Hoping for a TPV studio at BLT. Not super optimistic, but this might be a decent backup.

So.....are these buildings close to Ticket and Transportation?? Close enough to walk right?

Just keep in mind Oct is high season for DVC bookings-last year the Poly booked up for Oct at 8 am pretty much every day-might not be as popular this year but with VWL under construction, the quiet pool at the Poly being finished, and more poly owners this year vs last March I'd be ready to book at 8 am the day your 7 month window opens.

You can walk to the TTC in almost the amount of time it would take to walk to the monorail station at the Poly from the DVC studios at the Poly.

RTR, btw.

We booked 1/16-1/22 of this year at slightly less than 7 months. We had to waitlist 1/16 and 1/17 but it came through in less than a month. And yes, the walk to TTC is likely shorter than to the GCH depending on which longhouse you're in. We were in Pago Pago and it was (mostly due to the construction) decidedly shorter to TTC. That and the Express Monorail to MK made that the preferred route to the park. We loved the ease to get to Epcot and MK. It's the least we've driven on any trip we've taken. Found it more convenient than BLT.

My daughter is obsessed with how long things take, so we timed our walk from the TTC to our room in Pago Pago a few weeks ago: 3 minutes on the dot. The one drawback for us was that the Express monorail was not running any of the days before 9am, so we had to ferry over or walk to GCH and take the resort mono. It's just too close not to get to MK for rope drop at least once!

We booked exactly at the 7-month window and had to waitlist, but it came through a month or two later. This was for a week over Marathon weekend and departing Friday before MLK day.
