How hard is it really?

Hi folks

We are planning on a spur of the moment trip in July. Haha 4 1/2 months away is only spur of the moment for a Disney geek. So we are thinking of renting points because Dh won't bite the bullet and buy into dvx. Is it really going to be that hard to get a 1 bedroom anywhere ? Or is that just the ultimate planners talking. I think we will be able to book in 2 days so I guess I want to manage my expectations.

If you are booking in a couple of days and willing to stay in any of the DVC resorts, it won't be a problem.

In DVC availability terms, summer is better than fall-December (many regulars shy away from the summer weather heat...unless kid schedules require summer.)

So, other than the 3rd/4th of July, you may have a shot...if you are flexible on which resort.

Working in your favor, generally 2BR book first, then studio, then 1BR.

This is "last minute" in DVC terms... If I got a hot deal on a July flight, I would call DVC and expect spotty availability, and that may require a split stay (switching resorts)
