How "Halloweeny" is WDW in general in October?

Okay, I know I am going to sound like a grinch here, but for some reason we tend to prefer WDW (or Disneyland) in its "usual" state as opposed to when it is decorated for a holiday, so I'm wondering how much of WDW is changed (decorations at parks/resorts, music/lighting changes, and so on) in October in honor of Halloween. Not that we don't love Disney every day of the year--I would still go and have the time of my life if it were decorated to the hilt for Groundhog Day!--but I want to be prepared for anything that might be different, say if the Castle has giant spiders all over it or the Contemporary is draped with faux skeletons. Plus my 3-year-old is easily spooked and I want to prepare him if there will be anything like spooky music or noises where there usually is not.

Obviously MNSSHP will be wonderfully done up for Halloween but what will we see during our general touring? :maleficen

Thanks!
Thrilled about our 1st October trip!!

The Magic Kingdom is NOT decorated at all for Halloween EXCEPT for MNSSHP.Those nights they close the parks at 6pm for day guests.Between
6-7pm the MNSSHP guests are guided to Tommorowland to await the party. Cast members decorate and transform the rest of the MK duing that hour. Then at 7pm the party starts! I can't wait to take my 3 year old grandson for his first Disney trip and his first MMNSSHP on Friday Oct7th.

Oh no nothing like that at all even on MNSSHP nights. :earseek: They do have a large spider during MNSSHP but he's usually crawling on a building in Tomorrowland. :)

All the parks look the same except maybe for alot of mum plants around.Oh and Epcot will be holding the Food and Wine Festival so there will be lots of little food booths around the WS Lagoon.

Other than that it's pretty much in it's usual state! And the weather is usually FANTASTIC! You'll love it! :sunny:

And lots of pumpkins at the entry. I've got the best picture of my kids in front of those pumpkins with the castle in the background. It's one of my favorites.

Yeah I was going to say there are pumpkins and groupings of corn stalks..very festive.

Thanks everyone!
Sounds great.
I hope all who are going in October will have a wonderful trip. We were SO thrilled that our school has a fall break incorporated into the schedule this year so we can enjoy October at WDW! :)
