For some background-Dad's house got pretty badly flooded when a pipe in his ceiling burst this winter after weeks of 30 below windchills and almost as cold temperatures. He's only now been able to settle up on stuff and is in the process of tearing apart what's left of the damaged rooms. So his stuff is going into the undamaged rooms, whereever it'll fit. A favorite storage place is the drawers in my dresser:rolleyes:

So, today I was doing a little reorganizing in my room to fit *more* junk in there. Opened up a dresser drawer to find what looked like a makeshift animal nest. Right behind it was a paper roll of drawings my grammy and I made when I was 2. Sticking out of that roll of drawings was a TAIL. Yeah I screamed. So we caught the mouse in the trap, and went into my room to clean out the nest. Discovered it was made up of bits of carpet and a beanie baby that the mouse had chewed to shreds.
It gets worse. Once that nest had been vaccummed up I opened up another drawer. Found some more nest and started vacuming. Moved aside a t-shirt to vacum the rest of it, and found 4 BABY MICE, curled up on top of another t-shirt. Needless to say, the shirt above and below them, along with the babies got thrown away (they're just a day or 2 old, they can't move yet, can't chew through the trash bag). Got the whole dresser cleaned out, and started packing some cd's away in there. Was walking into my room again with another handfull of cd's when I saw a mouse peeking out from underneath my bed. Still hadn't been trapped when I came home to mom's tonight.
So all of this is gross; I've got 2 questions-
Why did they pick my room for their mating pleasures?
and Why did they have to choose my Mickey t-shirt to have the babies on???!!!

I'm sorry...I laughed at the visuals I got from your story.

Maybe they felt comfortable making babies on your Mickey MOUSE shirt. Ha ha.

Why did they..because they could....:sunny:

I have a couple of cats that could use jobs if you are in the market for a house mouse elimination .....:sunny:

I am sorry this happened, it is always a favorite shirt or some other inconvenient place they choose to nest on..hope you get rid of them soon, filthy animals....:(

I know a lot of people don't think much of mice... but it sounds mean to just throw them away and let them starve to death... what a horrible way for them to die, even if they are just rodents.
Please don't think I'm some kind of animal fanatic (even if I am) but letting any mammal starve to death doesn't make for good reading.
Hope you can buy a new t-shirt...

Sorry Miste, I wasn't trying to be funny with throwing them away or anything. The problem is we had to get them out of the house, and frankly there was no other way to do it. Also, separated from their parents, they'd die anyway. And with a house infested by mice, well...I dont mean to be cruel to animals; we were just trying to get rid of a major problem.
