How great is that feeling?

Does anyone else just love the feeling of the excitement of the first day when you board the ship. I just enjoy how excited everyone is to start their vacation.To me there just seems to be a certain buzz on deck those first hours.

I absolutely agree. Even if I am not hungry, that first buffet lunch is probably my favorite just because of the excitement. We have had a slightly different type of room each time and this time, we are going with two connecting inside rooms for the four of us. Pretty excited about that. (only 10 more days)

We have always attended the sail away party - last time my wife was unpacking so it was just me and the kids. I am thinking about skipping that this time, though. The kids probably won't want to and they are old enough (12 & 14) to run around on their own, but I am still not sure I am comfortable with them being at that party completely unsupervised as there are so many people there. I feel like that for the sail away and fireworks party. Other than that, they are free to do whatever. My wife and I won't skip fireworks though.

On our first cruise that excitement buzz pretty much lasted for 166 hours straight...

It is the best feeling! I got excited seeing the Magic leave port yesterday, on her way to Copenhagen. Made my vacation seem very close now.

I have a friend on the Fantasy today (she has sailed before so she gets it) and she has been texting me. They are waiting for the bus at MCO now. I love thinking about what people are about to do an see and totally jelly she'll be there and eating in Cabanas soon!

i first get a tiny bit of that feeling when i board the dcl bus. then, when you drive over the bridge and see the ship right there in the distance i get that feeling BIG time. as the ship gets closer and larger, so does that feeling. walking into the port……more of that feeling.
i think we get that feeling the whole first day.
