I received an email from DVC about an Animal Kingdom promo. If you purchase 160 points or more at the Animal Kingdom Villas before Sept 20, 2008 you get:

Complimentary vacation (accomodations only) (appears to be equal to whatever points you purchase)

Pre-paid gift card to use toward your expenses (air fare, fuel, dining ,shopping, etc)

Flexible $8 per vacation point credit gift card that can be used toward your down payment.

So, if you purchase 160 points, you essentially get an extra 160 points, a $500 gift card, and a $1280 gift card you can use toward your down payment.

Seems like a good deal, but I know they offer deals all the time. How good is this one?

Other questions:
Does anyone know the cost per point at the AK Villas?
How much are you required to put down as a down payment?
How long can you finance the balance for?
What are the yearly dues at AKV?

Thanks!!

it's a pretty good deal if you like AKV. (if the economy keeps tanking, it might get better though...)

AKV starts at $104 per pt before incentives. AKV annual fees are currently $4.71 per pt per year.

i've never financed so i'll leave those to someone else...

You need a minimum of 10% down, but the $8/per point can be used to help pay the down payment. The only other stipulation I know of is that even with the $8/per point from DVC for the down payment, you still need to put at least $500 down.

does anyone think the incentives will get better or worse? we are considering adding on at AKV too but don't know if we should wait. We are going to Disney in 2 months and may add on while we are there.

I'm still going to hold out for GC @ DLR, whenever that will go on sale.

We missed the Event last weekend, after finding out the incentives dh called our guide, the deal we got (which was offered at the Event) was 5 days at SSR or AKV (AKV after May 1st), $1,000 visa gift card, fast passes (tied in with the 5 day trip), and $1,280 towards the down payment. She said this deal ends Aug 15th....

Does anyone know the cost per point at the AK Villas? $104
How much are you required to put down as a down payment? With the $1,280 towards your down payment, you have to pay at least $500.
How long can you finance the balance for? 10 years
What are the yearly dues at AKV? For 160 it is around $750
