I was kind of half thinking of booking another trip when I saw the Fairytale Package, and with the WDW official site, started playing around with dates and resorts -- it doesn't seem like such a phenomenal deal to me.

It looks like when I break it down, with the discounts I've rustled up for our trip in .......(drumrole please)....... 4 days, I'm doing the same if not a little better than I would in August with the Fairytale Package.

I thought these savings were supposed to be "unprecedented". Am I missing something??? (It wouldn't be the first time:p ) If someone has insight (or just better math skills) please share!!!

I'm going in Aug. My original price for 2 adults, 1 child at WL, with passes (not a package) came to 2162. It would have been about 2050 with FairyTale package. If I had done it piece meal, as I intended originally, I would have been in the parks ony 6 days out of the 9 days I was there. Now, with the FT pack. I'm staying at the Polynesian for the entire visit and paying 2496. This is our dream resort and the package allowed us to be able to upgrade. If I price out the visit, using AP rates, it comes to 2754. So, I'm coming out ahead. BTW...WL, using the AP rates came to 2050. So, for us the package has worked out. And I am not a huge fan of packages. But this one is working.

Personally, I believe the savings are "unprecedented" when compared to other packages. Some people prefer to book packages rather than ala carte for various reasons. However, I think you can usually do better booking everything on your own. Right now though, unless you are a Florida resident or have an AP, the Fairytale Package looks like it is the better deal.

This being our first ever trip to disney I'm not really sure, but it seems like a great deal to us. We had orginally booked the Dream Maker package for five nights with the mears shuttle transfer, We now have 7 nights and a town car for the exact same price. We love the idea of the uph passes because we want to do everything! Just my thoughts.

dw,ds and dd go every year and we got into the habit of staying at WL for a week. we usually get discounted park hoppers, although we always use every admission, so we don't have any unused days to carry over to next year. (good thing cause we would probably lose or misplace the passes anyway!)

so, compared to rack rates, this is an excellent deal for us, and many others in our situation. and really, you have to compare to rack rates. although discounted rooms have been a regular occurrence, you cannot rely on them to be available when you want to go. plus, the opportunity to upgrade with FT is a chance you can't pass up.

we also won't feel so committed to going to the parks everyday.

We just booked our package and it saved us a ton. We didn't have any previous discounts so these numbers will reflect rac rates but here goes:

7 Nights Yacht Club Conceirge = approx. $4,600

Now with package = approx. $2,700

I couldn't pass that up. The savings over rack rates are huge and for those like me who hate to track codes, this makes life A LOT easier :).

This deal absolutely rocks for those who plan to hit a park everyday and who do not already have park hoppers, AP, DC, DVC, etc.

Same here for us. I had room only reservations (2 rooms, Yacht Club concierge water view) for 7 nights and with rack rates and buying passes (one AP, the rest Park Hopper Pluses for 5 people) it was going to cost approx. $9035 for rooms and tickets.........with the currently released AP rates, it would be only a 24% savings for the rooms (approx $6800 total) and with the Fairytale package, it is $5582 with passes that include everything. We will use the extra things on the UPH because we have 3 teens who like the water parks and disneyquest, which we would have had to pay for DQ with the other passes we were getting (except for the one adult with the AP). This package works well for us and saves us tons of money that we can now spend on meals and such. I guess it might not have been better if we were staying somewhere else and using the booking individually route, but the AP rates on the YC don't seem to be as high as some of the others that were released. I think whether or not it is a good deal for you depends on how you do the parks and how you spend your time there and also where and how long you want to stay.

Well, I had to switch my reservations around a bit and I already had 7 day park hopper pluses...

But with the new FTP - I saved just over 400.00USD and I still have my 7 day park hoppers for another trip:D

I have always paid rack rate - I think this is very cool!

>>^..^<<

The FTP is letting us go in October where as if it wasnt available we would have to wait a year to save up.

...the DC prices came out for the FTP, I called CRO and got $4,810 for 7 nites (3 rooms at ASMo) for 4 adults and three children (of course, with UPH). I called the next day and got a price of $3,090 for the EXACT SAME THING (last week in July). Can you beat that???!?!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

The best deals are going to be on the more expensive resorts. I priced out a 7 night with passes at All Stars vs. ala carte....there was only a few dollars difference. I then did the same for AK and there was a much greater savings with the package.

So it all depends on what you want

We were not planning on going to WDW this year because we couldn't afford to go for 7 nights. Our last trip in 2001 was 4 nights. It was a great trip, but we felt very rushed and wished we had booked a longer trip. The FTP has allowed us to be able to afford to go to WDW and stay for 7 nights without having to wait another year or so like we were planning.

We reserved standard view, WL, 2 adults, 2 kids, $1883. Our last trip in 2001 at WL, lodge view was $1856 for only 4 nights. We can't believe what a great deal this is. I'm paying only $27 dollars more than I did for our last trip. I had been looking for other vacation ideas this summer when I went to the WDW website last Thursday and came across this great deal.

My SIL and BIL and their dd also booked the same trip for the same dates as us. Their total is $1671.
