I wanted to eat on the board walk, DH is a little unsure of the menu. Is it good?

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Crab Cake
. . . entree:.. Bourbon NY Strip, Rosemary Pork Chop
. . . dessert:. Key Lime Tart

NOTE: The food at Captain's Grille is usually above average and quite tasty, but
pretty expensive for what your are getting. At 25% less cost, it would be quite
worth the price. The service is very spotty and our server was almost surly. We're
fond of the New York Strip and the Rosemary Pork Chop. But, the Chicken was dry
and bland. One would also expect a great plate presentation for the price, but the
plating looks like a local diner's Blue Plate Special
. The dessert Key Lime is a good
end for the meal. I would prefer lunch, as the sandwiches are very tasty and the
price-value is good. For a nice lunch, try the Soup and Salad - there is one or two
choices for a sandwich, as it is a chef's special for the day. I had the shrimp
salad sandwich and clam chowder. Pretty darn good for about $15.

I would concur with TheRustyScupper's review. It is good for a last minute sit down meal. We've never not been able to get a table there. I have heard excellent reviews for breakfast, although h we have never been.
Yachtsman Steakhouse is far superior. A bit more pricy, but not outrageously so. Quality, selction and service are so much better it is worth the extra $$.

Captain's Grille is a hidden gem! We made a last minute change because we were rained out of AK and needed to find a place for dinner near our resort. Went with CG and had one of the best meals we've had at Disney. Finally got back there in February and food was impressive once again. Hoping to try breakfast at some point.

I've never actually eaten at Captain's Grille, but I just wanted to point out that it's not actually on/at the Boardwalk, it's across the lake at the Yacht Club. So if "The Boardwalk" was something important to you, I would look into other options such as Trattoria al Forno, Big River Grille, or ESPN Club.

We've eaten breakfast at Captains Grille a few times & find the atmosphere to be very generic/dated. If you want a good meal on the Boardwalk try Trattoria Al Forno, you'll be on the actual boardwalk, the restaurant atmosphere is very nice & the food is quite good. The Flying Fish is our favorite restaurant on property-if it's open when you visit give that a try. Awesome food & service & a great Boardwalk location.

I was telling DH Beaches & Cream looks like a fun place to eat. Yummy comfort food and awesome choices for desert.

The breakfast there is delicious - one of my favorite's at WDW. And the ambiance works for breakfast. The dinner food is tasty, but it's just not very nicely plated and the ambiance feels underwhelming for a nice dinner.

It has turned into a must do for our family! My adult son says the best steaks he has ever had, and I LOVE the crab legs! A quiet place to eat, and really good food!
