How good is that $129 teacher rate at the Dolphin?

I booked a deluxe balcony with the teacher's rate for a little more and I had one of the best rooms you can get, a view of Epcot and illuminations. Another teacher had a nice standard room, first floor walkout balcony which was great for her sons right in the same wing. Another teacher went in the summer (we were Easter) and got upgraded to a deluxe room. Make sure you joing Starwood Preferred Program.
No disadvantage to the rate, just have to grab it while it's available. It's the greatest break we ever got on such a deluxe room.

Got this rate in Nov (2001) and I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available....I got 5th floor overlooking the Boardwalk with distant views of Epcot. My DS-in-L got the room opposite ours w/views of MGM. Awesome!!! You will LOVE this place.....!!!

DH and I used this rate(well nurses rate, but its the same) the week before Easter in 2001. We paid for a standard, never even asked for an upgrade and got upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the lake. You can't beat it!

I am on leave this year and we are thinking about going May 3rd. The rate is available for that time, so I am really excited.

I was quoted $174 for a deluxe room and $217 for another type. What does a person get for the $217 rate?

Went twice on the teachers discount. 1st time we were upgraded, free, to 7th floor amazing view of MGM/BW. 2nd time we were upgraded, free, to the most unbelievable corner room with a huge balcony and two enormous windows. One overlooking MGM/BW, the other overlooking Epcot/BW. We were able to watch Illuminations from bed. From everyone's experience on these boards, it appears that S/D is very generous with their free upgrades. For $129, there's no Disney resort that can even touch S/D for value.

Even without being upgraded, I haven't heard of any bad rooms. I believe the other side of the Dolphin can even see MK when you're high enough.
