Trying to decide whether to spend extra time at DTD or HS in Sept. DTD would probably put us at Paradiso (never had before), HS would have us picking a new lunch venue. Already doing Cape May (bfast), Sci Fi (lunch), and MM for Fantasmic day, and Cape May dinner a different day. Not thrilled with Brown Derby or H&V. Would Prime Time be a good choice, or something else in the HS resort area? Don't really love the Prime Time menu, but the sampler with the meatloaf, chicken, and pot roast might be interesting if they still have it. Don't love comfort food while on vacation (as thats what we eat at home!), but can't think of a better option... Probably will be on DXDP. Thanks for your opinions! :thumbsup2

how about kouzzina at the boardwalk? Or Beaches & Cream??

As for the food at 50's, i had the fried chicken and it was ok. A tad bit salty (table next to us said the same). Not sure what the sampler platter is like but ive heard good things about it. If you've never been i'd give it a try. The antics are HILARIOUS, I gotta admit. Our server was great. My son enjoyed the scolding i got for putting my elbows on the table. My fave part was when she fed my son his veggies, even made airplane noises! haha!

50's Prime Time is one of our family's favorite sit down. I love their pot roast and the rest of the family usually gets the fried chicken. We love the atmosphere of the place and enjoyed all of our meals there.

My family enjoys 50s. Our favorite entrees are the pot roast and the chicken pot pie. DH said the meatloaf was okay, but he likes mine much better! :goodvibes I don't order a milkshake as I'm not a milkshake person; but the rest of my family loves their milkshakes! My daughter REALLY enjoys the PB&J milkshake!

We just dined at 50's for the first time, this past Sunday. I loved the theme and decor. Our server or "cousin" was OK. The table next to us had an awesome one! I kept trying to read her name tag, but was not able to. She was an older lady with gray hair and a pony tail. She did her part perfectly :) I got the sampler and I thought all was good aside from the meatloaf. Yuck to that.

We just returned from our trip and dined at 50s PT. we loved it. i had not been since I was a kid so I didnt really have much to base it on. Everything from the cherry cokes to the desserts were wonderful. We shared a lettuce wedge for appetizer and this was delicious. DH & DD had the sampler platter and loved it. I went for the pot roast and if I could have licked my bowl I would have. Our server was fun but not too 'rude" to us. Any other questions just ask

We were on the fence and didn't really think we wanted to keep our reservation at 50's... we made it because our t/a said it was good. Decided to go for it, it was only one meal and fun to try something new. It is now on our MUST DO list. We all had SO much fun! Our server was HILARIOUS! So funny, so good! In fact, we enjoyed her so much that we actually spoke to a manager and filled out a compliment card for her... I hope she got picked for a prize.. she deserves it! The food was great too... I had the meatloaf and LOVED it.. hubby had the pot roast and loved it. Our seven year old was in stitches the whole time.... I would HIGHLY recommend. I think your server can probably make or break it for you, but we had a good one... and either way, the food tasted so good. Especially several days into vacation... home cooked meal was YUMMO! Can't say enough good, can't wait to get back there!

Prime Time is one of our very favorites, right along with Teppen Edo and Le Ceilier (sp?). Definitely a favorite for lunch. I love the chicken pot pie, the wife the chicken ceaser salad and the son the pot roast. The pot pie is about the only meal that i clean my plate and that includes eating at home. I think the servers are great. one in fact, Mark, has become a friend of ours, in as much as a cast member can be a friend. We go twice a year and we always ask to be seated in his area. If we can't, he'll always make certain to stop by a couple of times and sit down and chat a bit at least once. I think the key to a good server experience is interaction. Don't make them do all the work of putting on the show. A good give and take makes it much more fun. Go for it, you'll enjoy the experience.

Some restaurants have so-so food and great 'theme'ing.

Others have great food and little to no theme.

50s has both. I am partial to the fried chicken myself. The cast interaction is super also.
It is just so much fun!

I liked the atmosphere at 50's Prime Time Cafe, but I wasn't a huge fan of the food. It was a neat experience though!

I've always enjoyed my meals at PTC. The last time I got a salmon dish and it was quite good. The only thing with PTC are the servings are pretty big.

We go every trip whether it's lunch or dinner and have tried almost everything on the menu. We have never had bad food! We take the skin off our chicken so don't know if it is salty or not. The deserts and great and the beer is cold!!

We ate at 50's for the first time on our most recent trip (Dec.).
The whole family loved it, besides waiting 45 min past our ADR. Our server was witty but not rude. The food was hot and fresh, and everyone enjoyed it very much. Our table ordered the chicken pot pie (yum!), fried chicken, sampler, and a few different kids meals. We also got smoothies and shakes which were delicious. The servings were absolutely huge.

MMMMmmmmmm The POT ROAST !

OMG... I loved the pot roast! So much so that I didn't even really care for our HBD F! Dining we did OOP later that day...May 2010

Our interaction was not that great but perhaps because she didn't think we would care for it? It was just DS18 and me.... But she was very nice....

Did I say I LOVED the pot roast ?

Have a magical visit !

Mary

PS: Giving HBD another try in May 2012... with imagineer dining....

Love the pot roast, fried chicken, fried onion rings, blue cheese wedge salad, sampler platter, PB&J shake and the house margarita.

I love PTC. The chicken and pot roast are fantastic. Don't care for the meatloaf. It's made with beef and pork, which around here seems odd. However, if you decide to go another way, last year on our second DHS day, we took the boat to Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club and had a great meal. I had the pound of crab legs and really enjoyed them.

it is our favorite resturante beside's having great food the atmosphere is great and if you have fun with the server it makes it alot more fun for every one

We only went to Prime Time once and we did enjoy it. It was a fun experience and the food was good. We also did Paradiso in November for the first time and really enjoyed that as well. The food was really yummy! Don't think you could go wrong with either!

Love Love prime time!! It is a must for us..We have had awesome waiters, 2 that stick in my memoy are- one had my oldest son stand in the corner because he had his hat on at the dinner table, another had my husband stand up in front of the room and sing I am a little tea pot because he was eating with his elbows on the table..lol Our last trip all 3 kids, 12,7 and 5 all ate off the adult menu..
