Do I have to dig out my beaded gowns and tiara from my reign as Corn Queen? Or can I just get away with my formal Christmas Party/wedding attire? ;)

It's really a matter of preference. If you want to relive your princess: days, go for it! People will be there in beaded gowns/tuxedos and many will be there in "party" attire and dark suits. It's so much fun to see the little ones all dressed up. My "little ones" are 19 and 16 so I like to relive the days when they would wear what Mom put out!
Have a great time!

I have seen people in gowns, but most people are in wedding attire.

To me personally formal means a gown but not the brides maid dress you wore or god forbid your wedding gown... Wear whatever makes YOU feel formal and like a princess, there will be some folks who wear dresses that cost as much as my cruise and some who feel formal means a sundress.. gosh if you really have beaded stuff go for it.. the most memorable family for me was dad and son both in kilts with tux jackets and bow ties and mom and daughter in floor length beaded dresses ,, the looked right out of hollywood...If only I could get my husband and son to wear kilts.... not happening in this lifetime but that family looked AWESOME!

Formal to me, with respect to attire on a DCL cruise, is a dark suit....

A nice, cocktail dress is formal enough for me. My husband and son wear a suit and tie. My daughter likes to dress up in a fancy dress too. That's about as formal as we get. Our dress style seems to be the norm and only a few families go all out with wearing gowns and tuxedos.

We don't see the big deal in dressing up... we are actually looking forward to it and will be dressed to the nines...

tuxedos and beaded gowns all the way in our party of 6...!!!!!

That's half the fun of the cruise!!!

Formal for us was a dark suit, white shirt, and tie for DH; shirt, tie and pants with nice shoes for DS who is 11; and a fancy coctail type gown for me.

It was fun to see how everyone was dressed--some went way out with formal gowns and tuxes, most were dressed similar to us.

Enjoy!

We're going all out for our cruise. DH will be wearing a tux provided by cruiseline formal wear and I found beautiful dresses for myself and DD8 and DD4 on ebay at very economical prices.

We are all looking forward to dressing to the 9's and having our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie in their finest.
