my favorite scrapbook store is at the other end of the UK from me (fortunatly they are online:p )
they are having a crop next weekend, and I really want to go. It seems a little silly to travel 5 hours on the train, or fly down to a crop, but there aren't any close by.

Does anyone else travel far to crop??? Am I crazy to even consider it?

Bev

I say GO! I enjoy scrapping as much as I enjoy my children. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for them and I would definitively travel 5 hours to scrap! My LSS is about 45 minutes away (one-way) and there are some others even further away. This month alone, I have 6 1/2 hours into travel to and from scrapbook stores. If I have the opportunity to do something for myself, it usually involves a table or a car ;)

How often do you get the opportunity? Take a day or two for yourself and go.( I would and have traveled farther than 5 hours.)

You will have a blast.

Bev-

Absolutely go if you have the chance! I sometimes I drive nearly an hour (I know that doesn't seem too far) just to crop for a couple of hours. I love to crop with others when I get the chance, and it's such a rare opportunity, that I go even if I'm in the car longer than I'm cropping! I used to drive to Nebraska from Oklahoma (7+ hours) for a big day long crop and to visit my scrapbooking friends there.

Have a great time,
Candi

I would agree with everyone above; scrapbooking can be fun but it also can be isolating. It really revs me up to meet with other scrapbookers, not only to get ideas but support. No one knows more than other sb'ers how much work you put into your pages and you can get great back-patting at crops!

I say GO, GO, GO! Sounds like a lot of fun!

I love England and would love to come too! But flying there from the west coast of the US would probably be a bit too much, don't you think?!? ;)

Bev, it is decided, I am telling you to come!! You travelled that far for the last crop!!

See you next Sunday, it's only 2 1/2 hours for me, presuming the M25 is behaving itself!!

You got me hooked on this scrapping lark after all!!

The last crop I went to was 4 hrs away, so I echo the others... GO!

The furthest I have ever gone to crop was in the neighborhood of over 2000 miles. I flew from NJ to South Dakota to crop with a group of on-line friends.

I was counting on you being there on Saturday Bev. I think it's about 3 1/2 hours for me to get there so please come.

Hi Christine, I'm planning on coming - I;ve just been umming and ahhing over which way to get there. I'm pretty much decided I will just drive down now.

Are you staying overnight? I need to book a hotel, but I'm not sure which to go for.

Bev

go go go !
I travel about 3 hours to join all my friends in a full day-scrap booking party... I love it, its great to see all kinds of ideas.
If it takes a few hours, I say go!

Have a great time!

Hi Bev
I've booked into the Lakeside Moat House mainly because it was cheaper (£40) and includes breakfast. I understand most people are booked into the travel lodge but I can't be bothered to change my booking now.
I'm getting really excited :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

just thought I'd update you all on my crop.

The plan was to travel down Friday night, crop Sat and Sun and drive back Sunday evening.

Friday afternoon we had a massive crisis at work and I couldn't leave until after 8pm, so I went home and decided to get up early to drive down instead.
I left the house at 6am and by 10:30 was nearly at the crop, when I pulled up in a traffic jam on the M25 (a very notorious road) at got stuck there for 5 hours! Eventually, got to the crop at 4pm which was not the plan

I did have a great time Saturday evening, and Sunday. Learned how to do the Susie Ratto brush lettering which is quite clever.

Bev

Bev, I am sorry to hear you had so much trouble getting to your crop but I am glad you had fun once you got there.
