We already have a trip booked for Disney, staying onsite. We have been offered free tickets to Universal.

We are thinking of just going to Universal for a little while on our way out of Orlando to go home.

How far, time wise, will it take for us to get from WDW to Universal? We are staying at All Star Music.

Thanks for any info!! :)

Depending on the time of day...I would see anywhere from 25-35 minutes...it's not far...just up I-4 a bit.

The route above is great for avoiding I-4 when it's a mess (which is most of the time). It's not at all trafficky once you get away from Disney World.

So, if you were at WDW, and had a free ticket to Universal, would you go and use it just for a few hours? What is the least amount of time you would stop in for? Mind you, it will be 2 adults, 2 teen/preteens and 2 preschoolers.

We will have a 6 hour drive after the park, so that is why I was wondering if just, say, 3 hours would be enough to just 'get a taste'. Or would you even bother?

How did you get 6 free tickets?

The teen/preteens will want to stay all day! I'm 45 and love their rides, more intense than Disney.

If 3 hours is all you can do, so be it.

But again, how did you get 6 free tickets?

Through my friends' work.

I would have either 1 adult take the 2 preschoolers and the other adult take off with the teens/preteens for the rougher stuff or have a designated time and meeting spot (Say, for instance, the Lucy Tribute at noon) and have the 2 adults take the preschoolers while the teens go it alone. Depends on how responsible you think they are.

That's the driver's problem, not anyone elses. If whoever is driving feels up to it everyone else can sleep if they're bored. Running through Universal for a few hours is a good way to tire them out for the trip
