How far out are pin codes released?

I was just curious how far out pin codes are mailed. Do they coincide with Disney's vacation packages being released 6 months in advance? For example, we booked room only ressies for Jan 2010-the vacation packages will be released about Aug 2009...so, when would a pin code that included this date be released? Thanks sooo much!

We received a 40% off code in the mail and it covered dates over the course of 2009 right up until December.
