How far of a drive is Palm Springs to San Diego?

We would love to check out San Diego as a day trip if possible while staying in Palm Springs? Is this possible?

It's do-able but it will about 2 hours each way. If you don't mind spending at least 4 hrs. in the car, go for it. San Diego is lots of fun.
