How Far is the Gaylord Palms From Downtown Disney?

I'm considering staying at the Gaylord Palms for our upcoming trip to WDW. We currently have reservations at the Yacht Club, but I'm having trouble justifying the big $ for this resort. We stayed at the Beach Club two years ago and I remember thinking the rooms weren't much. Not a real value for your money. The Gaylord Palms, sounds pretty amazing and since our son is a teenager, the Disney "Magic" isn't a requirement.

I am having a little trouble picturing where the Gaylord Palms is located. Is it far from the Downtown Disney area?

Any info would be appreciated.

It's right near/in Kissimmee, It's much closer to the 'maingate' entrance to WDW off 192 IIRC. DD is several exits east on I-4. I'll guess drive time about 15-20 mins +/-, to DD.

I think Gaylord Palms is on Oscela Parkway on the way into WDW from the turnpike - I think the 15 minutes to DTD is pretty much bang on

Thanks

We stayed at the Gaylord Palms last August. It is only a 5 minute drive to DD using the back roads. I dont remember their names, but from the Palms you turn left cross the Xpressway and are in WDW by the new POP Century resort. You turn right there go 1/2 mile and you are at the Old Key West Resort. Turn right and DD is right there. From Gaylord Palms you are closer to all the theme parks than if you stayed at The All Stars resort. The only drive more than 10 minutes is Animal Kingdom. GP is perfect for a family like yours that has older kids. It is themed nicely has a good pool, and is Close to everything.........Have fun ........TAZ :Pinkbounc

I agree with Taz...Gaylord Palms is a great off site hotel and it very close to Disney. You are very close to the new Pop Century Resort and if you cut through Disney, you can be at DD within 5 to 10 minutes depending on the lights.
