How far is the DLH from the Gate?

We are going next summer with somebody who is mobile but gets tired walking long distances. We were going to stay at the Grand but I think they have officially priced us out; but maybe not depending on distances. I'm not counting on the monorail being operational either. We are really set on staying on property just because of the extra access to the parks which is going to be hugely beneficial next summer :)

On another note has anyone managed to suggest somebody get a scooter without being totally insulting?

It took us about 10 minutes to walk with a 10 and 7 year old from frontier tower( the furthest) to the gate with a stop at Starbucks to pick up coffee that had been ordered.

Thanks! She should be able to do that. We stayed at Candy Cane last time, mainly used the shuttle but they did walk a couple of times.

Was it so bad you don’t want to do this again? I can see the shuttle
Being so helpful to the friend.

We want the early entry, and if the parks start shutting down due to over capacity we will have more luck getting in. We are going specifically for Galaxy’s Edge and want to make sure we have the best shot possible at actually getting in and on the rides. It’s on site or nothing this time.

The other downside of Candy Cane & the shuttle was when we wanted to do stuff in Downtown Disney it was a long walk. We also found waiting for the shuttle super inconvenient, hence the person who hates walking not using it and walking back to the hotel.

Dlh to gates isn’t a long walk.

But given that a normal day at DL/DCA for me involves about 13 miles of walking, I think y’all are focusing on the wrong part.

And just so you know the hallways at the Grand can be very very long if you don’t get a room right by an elevator... you can have a very long walk in the hotel itself!

Yep. We had the second furthest away room that you can get, and our walk from our room to the center of the esplanade (using the dca entrance makes sense if you’re going deep into DCA, but hitting monsters inc or going to Disneyland you don’t want to use that entrance) was nearly as long from going from the sidewalk outside HoJo to the same spot.

We also found waiting for the shuttle super inconvenient, hence the person who hates walking not using it and walking back to the hotel.

I don’t see how that makes sense for someone with mobility issues. Unless it’s mainly standing issues, which I totally get.

If she has mobility issues, though, she’d be less exhausted renting an offsite scooter to have all day every day of your trip!
