How Far is Space Center from MCO?

We are going to WDW Sat-Sat. I was thinking of taking ME to the airport, renting a car there, driving to the Space Center, staying at MCO overnight, and flying home on Sun. morning. Is this doable/worth it? TIA!!!

I think it is 45 minutes. That's what we are thinking of doing but we are staying a few more days and also going to SW. I think at KSC you can get a second day for free. Mousesavers used to say this but I would check to make sure it's still going on.
