Staying at All-Star Movies. May go to the Disney town of Celebration. How far is it from the resort and what's the best way to get there? We will have no car.

i'd say it's about 15 minutes away or so. unless you want to go to downtown celebration which will take you another 10 minutes or so. though the easiest way to get there would probably be by taxi.

We were staying at Old Key West last week and decided to go visit Celebration. We actually got lost going there and ended up at the All Stars, so I know how long it is from there! It is about 15 minutes, and is a VERY easy drive, no traffic whatsoever, and really no opportunities to get lost once you get on the main road that takes you into Celebration. Anyway, we went to the Farmer's market there and looked around. It is a very pretty town, definitely something to see.

Thanks. We're going to the part Celebration where the AMC theater is. Is that where downtown is with all the restaurants? Does anyone know if we can take a bus there on Sunday morning? Or should we just stick with a taxi?

The theater, shops and restaurants are all in the one area.
There are no busses into Celebration.
Welcome and have fun.

it is downtown or as my niece would say "on market street?". there's a lake there and it's just beautiful. a very nice theater by the way.

Disney Buses do not go to Celebration, you must use a Car or take a Taxi in order to get to and from your resort. :surfweb:

We have driven thru Celebration. (We always have a rental car.) Its very pretty and its not far away but I didn't see anything there that would be worth paying for a cab to get to. I'd spend more time just strolling around Downtown Disney.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

church services are held at the theatre which could be why the poster asked the question.
OP enjoy your visit to Celebration

Can someone give me directions to Celebration? My DH and I tried to visit a couple of times on our last trip, but just couldn't find it! We went down a couple of roads that said Celebration on them, but again, couldn't find the town.

Also, is there parking near the downtown area, so we could walk around downtown?

Thanks!

Simple route - head out the all stars to Osceola, turn right at the McDonalds, then turn right again onto World Drive south. Then *IGNORE* the signs telling you to head toward I-4 to go to Celebration. Instead, get on 192 east toward Kissimmee.

Heading east on 192, you'll cross over the I-4, and then at the first (or, at worst, second) light, you'll turn right onto Celebration Place. (A left would take you to Parkway Blvd.) You'll quickly come to a T-intersection. Turning right again, just follow this road - it will take you past the big hospital, through a residential area, and then bring you right to the lake, where the downtown area is.

The whole trip would take between 10 and 15 minutes. Depending on the time of day, you may be able to find a parking spot near the downtown area, and look around a bit. There's a Disney "interactive fountain" next to the lake, and we came across a guy fishing in the lake. I almost had my wife convinced he was a streetmosphere character.

We did this just about ten days ago.

I told my husband that it snows at night in downtown Celebration in December and he couldn't believe it. Too much fantasy I guess for a real town--but it's Disney.

And yes, we are going for church services.
