should we reserve and ECV? We are going in Nov 2012, so I know I don't need to now, but need to get it on my radar if they are hard to come by.

Also we plan on staying in a POFQ 2 queen bed room. I just can't justify paying extra for a king. Is there room for luggage and an ecv charging in there? Or should I request a king or accesible room for the extra space? I don't need roll in shower, hand bars, etc so i don't want to take that away from someone who does, but I don't want to be claustrophobic in the room either. If necessary for the room we'll consider paying for the king too of course, but if we can save money that's more pins we can buy!

FYI it's just DH and I in the room.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

First a minor point. This is s slow forum and bumping a post is not necessary as it takes several days for it to get off Page 1.

If you are talking about renting from off-site, there is no requirement but about a week or two tends to be good. Some people have been able to call while on their tips and get an ECV the next morning or even the same day, depending on the time of the call. And one local rental service owner has told me that if it looks as if they may run out of ECVs they will actually order more.

Two people with an ECV have no problem in a Value. The Moderates are at least 20% larger than the Values. The worst that may happen is that you may have to move a table to another part of the room.

And there are two "levels" of accessible rooms. Both have a raised toilet (17 inches instead of 13). One has grab bars at the tub while the other has a roll-in shower.

Thanks

I figured there was quite an inventory or rental ecv's, but it's good to know I can wait to almost the last minute.

I'm hoping :wizard: my ankle will finally be recovered from a full reconstruction in Sept '09, but my latest xray now shows several calcifed masses on the back of my heal that have developed post op which are probably the culprit of my pain. The original pain is gone which is good.

If I'm feeling better I want to walk, but I don't forsee that at this point.

Good to know that we'll fit nicely in a regular room at POFQ.
