How far in advance...?

Do you need to have your Disney Dining Plan added on to your package? I need to wait literally until two days until before we arrive before I'm paid enough to have the money for the plan total... is that too late do you think? I don't see anything laid out anywere except on the sticky thread where it says:

How far in advance can I add the dining plan before my arrival?
The Dining Plan can be added to qualifying packages until shortly before your arrival date. The number of days varies depending on circumstances, so the recommendation is to be sure that you've made final arrangements at least five days prior.

Is two days before I arrive out of the question do you think? I'm adding on a day to our trip (which is where that money is going first, but I can't afford to do both at this time... so I'd rather get the extra day before airfare changes too much on me first).

Keep in mind, you can add it to your ressie and pay for the plan at check in. No need to pay in advance.

if adding to a package(has to be to get DDP)no less than 3 days prior to arival but if staying dvc has to be 5 days prior

I was thinking it was 3 days as well, but your best bet is to call Disney and ask them.

If you add it on can you cancel a few days before arrival? and if your DVC do pay when you arrive?
