How far in advance to reserve golf cart?

How far in advance do we need to reserve a golf cart? We leave in a week...are we likely out of luck or are there likely to be carts if I call today/tomorrow?

If I reserve one now and then after a day or two at the Fort we decide we don't want it, can we take it back and cancel and get refunded what we didn't use, or are we stuck with it for the whole reservation?

1) They start taking reservations 1 yr in advance. No way to know if they are sold out at this point. However, I'd call asap. Credit card is required to secure.

2) Yes, you can turn it back in early and get refunded the extra days.
