Do I need to make AK FP reservations at 60 days? Are those FP usually available a day or two in advance?

You definitely do not need to make them at 60 days, or even 30. And you would probably have good luck a few days in advance, depending on whether you have time constraints on your day. No reason not to go ahead and make them when you can, though, and just adjust later if you need to.

I made fast pass reservations last night for next Saturday at AK. My reservations are for Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari and Festival of the Lion King. I had my choice of pretty much any times I wanted.

We may skip AK if we want a water park, depending on the weather. I'm going to make FP for an evening at MK after the water park. If the weather is cold and we decide to hit AK during the day instead of the water park, I'd cancel MK and make them for AK. It seems like AK is easier to adjust than MK.

This is just me, but any day I planned to spend any part of the day at MK, I'd make my FPs for MK and keep them there. Even if you decide to do AK instead of a water park that day, if there's any chance you'll go to MK by the end of that day, get and keep your FPs at MK. AK has to be a LOT easier to do without FPs than the Madhouse that is MK.
