Hi

Thinking of staying in RPR for 7 nights 21 April - 28. It varies from $244 to $259 per night, a total of $1813, including taxes.

Do you think this rate will come down, and how long should I wait. I dont want to pay this amount, but if I book and cancel will I lose the deposit?

Thanks

No, you will not lose your deposit. If you are booking a room only through Loews or the Universal site, you have up until 5 days before your reservation to cancel with a full refund.

Just be careful to look at the fine print before you commit to the reservation. Some of the packages and travel agent reservations make you cancel as far out as 20 some odd days.

The rates may come down, it all depends on how busy they are predicting it to be. Just keep an eye out, especially as you get closer to your dates. I have had my rates change as late as 3 weeks before we left.

And how does the rate change work? Do they apply it automatically or do I need to call and ask them to adjust it?

Also, I was wondering if would be worth my while buying 1 annual pass to get the APH rates, when we are staying for 7 nights. Has anyone done the sums already? Also, do the APH rates apply on all dates, or is it hit and miss?

Am sooo excited now - never though I would be booking the Royal Pacific!

Thanks!

If you find a cheaper rate, you need to call and ask them to adjust it. They only have "so many" rooms for each special rate available, so as soon as you see something for less, do it right away.

The Preferred AP is the one that will get you hotel, shopping and dining discounts (the Power Ap does not get you any discounts ...that's why it's so much less money) Only 1 person in your group needs an AP to get the discount...it saves anywhere from 10-20% on eating and shopping, and can save up to 30% on hotel. You have to figure the rates for when you go to see if it's worth it, but most people usually save enough money using the AP for the discount to make it worth their while to buy 1.

I just booked four rooms for February 13th through February 18th (5 nights) for $1,420.00 each, including tax for each room. (deposit $240.75) Two adult park tickets for the duration were included per room. The price was the same regardless if we took the tickets or not. I asked the agent (I called the hotel reservations number directly) if it would make a difference whether I purchased the rooms with or without tickets, if down the road, I saw that AAA discounts were available...At first, he was a bit evasive...when I asked such questions as..."What if I get the tickets included with the rooms now and AAA comes out with a better discount without the tickets? What if AAA discount comes out, will I even be able to change my reservations? Do you think there might even be an AAA discount for that time? Finally...I asked him...if something "better" came out...(we already purchased had non expiring park tickets) could we just call up...cancel the exisiting reservations...then reserve new ones...and he said we could...AND..there would somebody on the other end of the line who was experienced in all of this and would be able to help me at that time....He was very nice...and I felt better with my decision. I had also been wisely advised by the "Veterns" on the forum. :thumbsup2 I guess all I have to do is to wait and keep watching for anything better to come along...
