How far in advance has DCL been making its cancellations?

Hi everyone! I haven't been paying close enough attention to key dates lately and was hoping someone here might be able to help. We're booked for the 11 July cruise on the Fantasy out of Cape Canaveral. I'm very confident that it will be cancelled and am inclined to wait for them to pull the plug before I do. That said, I don't want to wait too long and have all the potential alternative trips fill up. So...how far out has has been Disney been making its cancellations? Thank you!!! :earsboy:

They seem to be doing a batch of cancelations about every 2-3 weeks and they cancel 2-3 weeks worth of cruises. The last batch was done on Monday April 27th and canceled All cruise ships through June 18th, the Wonder through the end of June, and the Magic through July 2nd. If they continue to follow that trend I would expect another cancelation on Monday May 11th or Monday May 18th and it would cover another 2-3 weeks worth of cruises so all cruises through early July and the Magic through the end of July. The Wonder is up in the air if they will cancel more Alaskan sailings or if they are just waiting until Vancouver allows ships again (July) and then they will resume.

It's all just a guess. Currently DCL appears to wait until after the adjusted Pay in Full date of a cruise to cancel it. Things are always changing though.

They did just say on the earnings call that DCL will be the last of their travel-oriented businesses to re-open, so we won't see any cruises coming online until the parks are set to be up and running (which still has no date in the US).

Shanghai Disney I believe they said will be reopening May 11 with limited capacity, masks, and social distancing precautions in place.

We are on the same cruise. We have pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that this cruise is not going to happen.

The day cruises started being canceled I booked WDW hotels as a back up.

That being said, I wish they would decide already or announce if they have decided so that people can stop playing the waiting game. I mean, Carnival is starting 8/1. I can't see DCL starting before that. It would be great if they did, but I don't see it happening.

I highly doubt Carnival is ACTUALLY starting up August1.

I think Carnival is looking at glass half full approach for the August 1 date which could happen but we'll see. I think you'll see some of the other cruise lines start up around August, remember its their entire business where DCL is a small park of the Disney company as a whole.

I was thinking the same thing and just switch it up to a WDW vacation since the parks will reopen before DCL. I already have 1 night booked the night before the cruise at POR so hopefully it won't be too difficult to extend it.

Tough to say what will happen on 8/1. That is just a projection by Carnival at this point but only a week or so after that no sail order by the CDC. It's hard to say if they will add a third modification/extension. I would say yes based on the latest figures. Just two weeks ago we passed 50k dead in the US. We are now about to pass the 75k mark. That's a significant increase in just two weeks....and now we're reopening states.
