How far in advance do your kids pack?

I am sitting in here listening to my girls pack their "Fun bags" for a road trip that is still weeks away. They each get to take a back pack full of whatever they think they may want to play with during a road trip. Theyre in there talking about why they're bringing each other things they add to the pack



I'm a planner by nature, I guess its genetic?

My girls are like that too. We are not going to Disney until mid August but they have already pulled out their suitcases and "packed" to see what they can fit in there. They are 7 and almost 9.

They are still in school for this year yet so they haven't had a chance to pack the backpacks for the drive down....we use the old ones from the school year for trips. Once school is over, I can so see them having the same type of conversations. Along with debating who should bring what so they can fit the most in their bags.

And yes, I believe it is genetic.

I'm 16 and I pack 2 hours before we leave . I get that from my dad.

I am a planner, my Dh is not (drives me nuts). Unfortunately the kids take after him and they are usually packing as we walk out the door.
