How far in advance do YOU pack?

Since it's so much more fun to think about all things Disney and in the process of procrastinating doing a million things that I'm supposed to be doing right now I was wondering... How far in advance do you pack for a trip to WDW?

We have 15 days to go (and I have been waiting for this trip for the past 364 days ) until I'm at the Poly so I'm really starting to think I should reward myself with a little packing. Of course the problem would be that I will have nothing to wear, so I better not start with the clothes! We live in AZ and it's gonna be 90 today, so we are wearing the same clothes that will be worn @ Disney (well except for that stash of new clothes I bought for myself!! - shhhh!).

Also - our goal this year is to pack super light - just to make it easy. We are travelling with our 3 kids, but this is the first time we've been able to go where there all old enough to not have to lug along car seats, strollers, pacifiers, blankets, diapers, baby food, etc, etc., so we're really getting into the packing light mode. Other than my camera, and mini camcorder if it doesn't fit into the pocket of my shorts, I'm not carrying it around with me.

My husband and I made a pact that we'll buy anything we need/want while we're there if we didn't pack it -- and this frees up a lot of room for souvineers on the way home! He started realizing that we buy so many t-shirts while we're there that he'll just buy one each day and wear it the next day! Plus he doesn't mind running back & forth to the laundry while we're at the pool or bar, so we'll just wash all the clothes 1/2 way thru the trip.

Ok, so sorry about the rambling, but is 15 days too soon to start packing?

I got the suicases down from the attic on Monday. I had every intention on packing then but of course I haven't...

Sounds like me. We leave in 14 day. I will be starting to pick up our extra shampoos and stuff like that. I buy our toilitries all new so that I am not worried about packing up stuff after that last use before we leave. It also allows us not have to rush to unpack when we get home. We even get new toothbrushes each trip.

I am getting excited though.

We have 76 more days and I packed my suitcase a month ago Can you spell EXCITED? Just my stuff, not the families. I just wanted to see how much the suitcase would hold and check the weight to see if we were all right for the plane. Really....Honestly....that's the only reason But gee I wonder why it's still packed

I have a perpetual Disney suitcase.

When I come back from a trip and unpack, there are certain items that never leave my suitcase- Mickey ears, Mickey beach towel, light up neckaces, water shoes, Eagle Creek packits, etc. When the trip gets closer and closer, I throw more in. Shower gel on sale? Throw one in! Get detergent samples? Throw those in! Get a cute sundress on sale in January? Put it in! Disney dollars are stored in a separate bag on the side.

The coolest part is about a week or two before the trip when I go through the suitcase and pack "for real"- I've forgotten about some of the items, so it's like little presents have been left for me! Then I plan out some outfits, make a list of any other items I need to pick up and start packing!

It's never too early!

I'm the insane one who packs for the next trip as soon as I get back from the last one!

I refill the toiletry bag each time I return, then stick it back in the right place, this way it's done. Also, when I head down to Disney, I start pulling things the week before, as I do laundry, the stuff I know I'll be bringing with me gets tossed into clear zip lock bags and stowed in the basket of to be packed stuff. I take less than 20 minutes the day before I leave to have everything done and ready to go.

We leave on May 10 and I have most of our stuff packed. I have a list made of the few things that I need to add to the suitcases on the day we leave. But for the most part we are all packed. Now, I just have to wait for the 10th.

We just got down the suitcases today. We will probably start packing this week. My dd thinks Im crazy and says she will pack the night before.@@.

We have 25 days to go...just this morning I said too my husband that we should start to get our things together to pack. Sine it's still pretty cold here in MA, I can't imagine needing our shorts and thing in the next 3 weeks so I'd say we'll probably start packing the actual bag in the next week or so.

The night before! LoL. I make sure everything is clean and blah blah blah. I'm usually up until midnight to get back up at 3am to catch our 7am flight in AC. I can't help it! LoL.

What do you mean how far in advance? We never unpack! Just leave the suitcase on the cedar chest with the essentials ready for the next trip.

We leave in 16 days....I will probably start packing this weekend.....it's not too hot in WV yet, so I can pack the shorts....

I am so excited!!! When we get back in May, it's only 4 months until we are back at Disney!!!!

do you need to bring your own laundry detergent for the machines on the wdw resorts?

I am a member of the never unpack club.
I have the one suitcase with the shower gel and shampoo and Disney Only things: backpack, ponchos, laundry detergent, roll of quarters and so on.

I will pack and unpack and repack about 3 times during the week before we go, drives my husband and kids nuts.
They are members of the Throw it in the bag 20 mins before we leave club.

Can't wait to start packing for Sept

We have 18 days and my suitcases are out of the attic and on my bedroom floor! My toiletry bag is filled and I am in full Disney mode!

I thought I was the only crazy mother who bought everyone new toothbrushes for the trip!!!! LOL!!!

10 days to go and I am so ready to start packing. I want to start pulling the clothes and luggage out. My dh is not going and I don't want to throw it in his face to early that he is not going. I will start on Sunday night and finish a couple of hours before we leave for the airport on Thursday.
