How far in advance do you have to book?

I want to book a Universal hotel sometime in the next year and every single date combination I have tried is telling me they are sold out. I have tried weekends in Oct., Nov, and January as well as June and August 2011.
Is it really that hard to book a Universal resort?
Any tips?

I think it may well be that they haven't released rates for rooms for next year yet as I had looked around April time and got the same message as you.....so don't worry!

You can phone the reservations and book for next year, at Rack rate.

I just booked a week online for April 2011 without any problems so maybe it's because it you are booking for a weekend and weekends are most likely their busiest times. but then we will be there for two weekends and had no problems.

Those dates probably are just not out yet like PP said. They don't book up that quickly. But when you do get a reservation, book it and then check back periodically for a lower rate then just call and have it changed :D

About 2 weeks ago I booked 4 nights at RPR for the week of Christmas. Last time we visited we stayed at HRH and I booked it less than 6 weeks ahead for the last week of June.

I have already booked for next Aug. Have the rates available and even have applied the AAA discount at this point. I was able to get the regular rates through the Universal site and then saw through AAA that they had the discounts up. I did call and make mine over the phone though since we booked two rooms at the HRH and wanted guaranteed connecting rooms. We were given exactly what we wanted are are all set already. I would call directly since you should be able to book now.
