I'm a
travel Agent, however I would book the air myself because most agents will have to charge you a ticketing fee of about $25 per person. Most airline tickets that you get are non refundable and you cannot make name changes. So if you cannot make your flight once it is booked most airlines will give you the amount paid in the form of a voucher. (like a gift certificate) and it is valid for 1yr.
I would type in the name of your airport under a google search to see which airlines fly around you. Sometimes JetBlue, Aligent, Spirit, Southwest may have better fares. Also, I would book a non stop whenever possible.
Companies like Expedia, Travelocity, etc... do not have the low cost carriers.
If you get really stuck post your airport and dates & I can see what I can find for you to book.
Good luck! Don't forget that most airlines require that you check in 2 hrs prior to your departure. Photo id's are a must for adults.... And the time that is listed as your departure time is not when you board the plane. That is usually the time the aircraft is pushed away from the gate. Boarding usually starts 30-45 min. prior to departure.
Also airlines will have listed on their site what size bags they accept for carry on, and any limitations to weight for carry on/checked bags.
