Now that the welcome show is at the castle stage how far in advance can you get on Main Street? If park posted opening hour is 9am, what time do they let you on Main Street?

Thanks

9am regular park opening - 7:45ish-8am (welcome show will be at approx 8:55am) (note, a 9am park opening is the only opening time where you get the long, extended time on Main Street prior to park opening)

8am regular park opening - 7:45ish (welcome show will be at approx 7:55am)

7am regular park opening - 6:45ish (welcome show will be at approx 6:55am)

On a 9am opening time will photo pass photographers be present on Main Street before park opening? Or will we see them after the welcome show? My family has never roped dropped, but will be this trip. Our little one is an early raiser while on vacations :confused3

If park opening is 8 am because of EMH, what time does everyone recommend that you arrive if you want to get lots done in that first hour? 1 hr prior? Or will a 1/2 hour cut it?

Do the vehicles that you can ride on Main St start running and being able to be ride them before opening?

Under "average/normal" crowd conditions, arriving 30-40 min. before MK AM EMH begins will work.

Yes, for a 9am park opening... Main Street Vehicles are often out during that "hour" before park opening. Granted operations can change on any given day, but I've seen them out more often than not.

IMHO it's a GREAT time to ride them.

We will have to try to get there early then. My son would like to ride some of these and if we can do it before park opening we won't miss out on getting to ride some rides with lower crowds first thing in the morning.

What? I got an 8:30 BBB ressie so I could get in before everyone else 9 am opening. Now everyone can get in? So unaware of this! And not very happy.

It has become far less an "advantage" to get pre-park-opening breakfasts on many days at any of the parks.

Guess I'm glad I saw this beforehand so I know. I just wanted to have a few pics without the swarms of people and wanted to enjoy the walk to the castle.

Last time I squandered our pre-opening BBB ressie because we had to wait on the bus for so long and we ended up running to BBB. This time I was going to be way more prepared with a taxi ride.

I agree with Angie, I got a PPO reservation at Crystal Palace as I have for every trip. One of the highlights of our trip is to get photos in front of castle without anyone else around - this is VERY disappointing :(

With your ADR, you’re still let in approx 7:45am with the PPO group that will have assembled to the left outside the main gain.

I have seen it where they let both the PPO group and regular day guest group (who will have assembled on the right side) in at the same time, and I’ve also seen them let the PPO group in with a head start. YMMV as to exact proecedures on any given morning.

BUT, it’s worth noting that at that 7:45-8am hour - there aren’t typically massive amounts of regular day guests who are there and ready to use that “hour” of free time on Main Street/the Hub. Sure, there will be some people... but it’s not massive, on an average day.

My personal opinion is that if you enter with the PPO crowd, let the initial wave get down Main Street, take their pics, start heading off to where they want to go, you can still get reasonably empty pics. Totally empty? No. But good shots can still be had with a little timing luck.

I'm sorry that you're disappointed and that you missed this in your planning, but it's not a new change. It's been this way for over a year and a half now.

If they have EMM, will they still let people without that extra ticket into Main St early?

Some of us can't visit every year. Bad of me to assume it would be like our last visits. Thanks for pointing out I should have known about it because it's been in place for over a year.

Sorry your response rubbed me the wrong way. Have a magical day.

Yes, an EMM morning would be just like any other 9am park opening described above. The only difference is that there would be another 200 or so EMM participants that are let in with the PPO ADR crowd.
