Were planning on switching up our trip in June a bit. Normally I can't tear myself away from the DLR for anything else. LOL But my family wants a day at Universal. So okay I guess, but we have to ADD another day to our trip then! ;)

So what were thinking is going in the middle of our trip. Have two days at DL, go to Univeral the 3rd day. Come back later that night to Anaheim and have our last day at DL the next day. Does that sound like a good idea?

The last time we went to Universal was around 12 years ago, before we had our son. And it was also on the way back home at the end of the trip. So I can't remember how far it was? Any suggestions of if it's good to go in the middle of the trip, or should we go at the end?

It is 31 miles, anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. We always do UHS in the middle of the trip, always Disney on the last day. We do August and have found it to be very busy on the weekends.

We had 2 days at Univrsal on our last trip in May & did them in the middle. We HAD to spend our last days at Disneyland! lol Like blackjackdelta said....it took us about an hour (give or take) & we went mid week. We left Anaheim at about 9:30am. The crowds were pretty low. It was nice!

Thanks Sally Fan! That's what we were thinking, going mid-week. Probably Wednesday. About an hour isn't too bad, gives me an idea of what time we should leave the hotel in the morning too!

Probably a good estimate. We like to get there when it opens. Since we are huge Universal movie buff's we did the VIP tour the last time and it was fantastic, we were treated like royality. It was very busy and 100+ in the hills and we were given everything we asked for.

We will be doing this on our trip as well. We will be going Thursday am and am hoping for smaller crowds. DH just had to go to US, lol!

We're doing this again this year too. Not sure wether we'll go on a Tues or a Wed but it worked out so well for us last time, we had to do it again.
