How Far away is Kennedy??

Hi Can anyone tell me how long it will take to get from wilderness lodge to Kennedy space Center?

My DH and DS are planning on going there for the day after Breakfast whilst me and dd go to the MK.

Iam planning an ADR for Ohana that evening at 7pm... Can I expect them to have gotten there had a full day and gotten back by then.

Figure roughly an hour each way, maybe even a bit quicker, depending how fast your husband drives. Should be plenty of time to see all there is to see and get back by 7.

I agree with the hour to hour and half, however... it is worth it to go to the beach right next to it. its called Merit Island and it's a nature preserve. Sand dunes, no crowds, not a highrise in site... very tranquil.

The billboards all advertise 45 minutes from Disney, but it took our group an hour.

Last June we left the Yacht Club at 7:30 am, we stopped at BK for breakfast, were back on the road at 8:03 and were at KSC (in the parking lot) at 8:47. I wrote all of this down, so it's pretty detailed.

I do have to say that it seemed like we had the road to ourselves, so heavy traffic could slow you down. We found it very easy to get there. The roads are well marked.

They opened at 9 and we toured the entire park except for one exhibit and one of the movies. We were through about 3pm. Then we stopped at the Astronaut Hall of Fame and were there until about 5:30 pm. That was the part our boys liked best (the simulator rides are there).

We were back in Orlando having dinner at 6:30pm.
