How Far Are You From WDW?

It takes us 8-10 hours by car, depending on how many stops we make (and how much highway construction there is on I-75... :p ).

We used to live 17 hours by car but moved last year. We are now 1 and 1/2 hours away and love it! We visit the world just about every other weekend.

Ohio checking in drove it as a kid with parent's. I told myself i would never drive it after 16 hrs with DD. We fly and take around 2 hrs 15 mins.

We live in North Carolina - Mocksville to be exact. It's a small town right between Greensboro and Charlotte. We're closer to the mountains...about 1 hour to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

It takes us right at 9 hours to drive to Disney and that's door to door. Sometimes when I think about that I think it seems so close. I mean we could get up in the a.m., leave by 7:00 and be there by check-in time. I always say to my DH "What's stopping us from just hopping on the highway and going?" Then he quickly gives me a reality check.

I'm glad we're within driving distance. We fly every once in awhile but by the time we drive to the airport, arrive 1 hour before the flight, then get the rental car in Orlando...we really only save about 4 hours.

Hey there.
We were Oregonians until about 6 weeks ago.

When we took our first two trips to WDW, we lived in Southern Oregon (3,177 miles from Orlando). For both trips, we decided it was worth driving 5-6 hours to a different airport(once from Portland, once from San Francisco) to save almost $2000 in airfare.

Now we're living outside Charlotte, NC and Mapquest says it's about an 8 hour drive.

Hi Neighbor and welcome to NC!! From Charlotte that is correct, it's approx. 8 hours, give or take depending on traffic. Don't hit Charlotte during rush hour for goodness sake. We're 1 hour from Charlotte in Davie County. I hope you like living in our beautiful state!

WAY TOO FAR! We live in the Adirondack Mountains in NYS... WE can be there after a 2 1/2 hour drive and a 3 hour flight!

Saskatchewan Canada here . Would like to drive some time but would have to a month of holidays.

I'm from New Jersey, Pt. Pleasant to be exact. We had to fly 2 hours or drive 20. Now we live in Knoxville TN so it should take about 10 hours to Disney. I'll find out in 2.5 months. Counting the days!

About 2 1/2 hours by plane, too long by car for me. But if we are visiting our best friend's that moved down two years ago. It takes us 40min from there house.

In southern NH: 24 hours by car, 3 hours by plane.

In the process of getting our house ready to sell so we can move south (for reasons other than WDW!) and hoping one day to live no more than a day's drive away! :teeth:

35 hour train ride to Beijing, 8 hour plane to Berlin, 10 hour plane to Atlanta, 1 hour plane to Orlando
We are staying at the Contemporary and we hope it is worth the trip!

Ok, you win. Have a safe trip. I'm sure if you plan carefully, you'll have a great time. Good for you!!!

Coming from Long Island NY it's about 1,159 mi (about 23 hours 31 mins). Thanks to SWA it only take 2 1/2 hours.

Thanks. We're enjoying it so far.
I just checked Google maps and they give the same route as mapquest, with the same mileage (550 miles), but Google says it's 11 hours while Mapquest says it's 8.5 hours. I'm hoping Mapquest is right.

Knoxville, TN here and it depends on who's driving.

For Parents.....11 hours

For me and my bro and sis-n-law......9 hours......(sometimes 8 1/2 if we do it mostly at night!) sssshhhhhh....don't tell the police!!!! :teeth:
