How far ahead can you book?

I am confused... I thought I saw a thread here that said you can book Wishes weddings 2 years out, 24 months, whatever.

I called DFTW and the person there said 18 months.

Any insight?

You can start talking to DFTW at 24 months and probably get penciled in but not be booked until 18 months depending on your locations.

You can be "penciled in" at 24 months. Someone else could come along and get penciled in for the same date/time/locations you want, it's no sort of guarantee - you're just on their radar. If you have a theme park or specialty venue, you can sign a contract and pay a deposit to secure the locations at 16 months. All other locations are 12 months. If multiple people want a certain date/time/location, they will hold a lottery at the 16 month mark.

ETA: When I called they tried to tell me that I couldn't even speak with someone til 18 months - which is probably what they told you. You have to be persistent until you get someone who is willing to pass your information along to a sales consultant. I told them I wanted to do a site visit, so after some pushing, I was assigned my consultant. When he called me, he assured me you can speak to someone at 24 months out (it was 26 months at the time - our site visit is at 24 months). Just hold your ground!

That's what I thought but the person I spoke to said something like, "we'll talk to you in May!"

Just keep calling until you get someone who will help you...the first thing Joe (my consultant) said was "I'm sorry if you were given wrong information, but you can certainly start speaking to us about your options." I think they just want to make sure that the people they are assigning consultants to are serious...and often people calling years out may just be gathering information.

For Escape weddings, you can only talk to people a year out, correct? That's what they told me on the phone...

I am having a wishes wedding and we did our site vist in April 2010 and aren's planning on a wedding until June 2012... I guess it depends on who you get when you call:confused3

I'm "penciled" in but can't book (sign the 16 month agreement or whatever it is as I'm really still not clear on it) until Feb 2011 (16 months out) and really can't sign contract and pay deposit until 12 months out.

I'm on hold right now with "Debbie" who is trying to sell me the 16 month line. I asked, "Well, isn't 16 months when they would hold a lottery for a site wanted by multiple people?" and her response was that they only do that for special dates like 11/11/11 or Valentine's Day.

Huh?

This whole process is so frustrating.

I said that I have the Passporters Guide where it says specifically 24 months for initial contact and that I have friends on the DIS who are planning weddings after mine and are already going on site visits. She asked if I'd looked at the "official website" and I told her I was on it currently and that it needs to be updated because in the FAQ it says 12 months out to book a Wishes wedding and she just told me 16 months so there's a bit of disconnect on the information.

(I giggled because the whole thing with Disney where you get different info based on who you talk to really, really makes me crazy!!!)

She went to the FAQ and said "huh. You're right. You're the first person to point that out to us."

She put me on hold for 10 minutes and then came back and started taking info she said she'd pass on to a Consultant. So I should expect an email soon and a phone call in 2-3 days!!!!

SQUEE!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
