How exspensive is the Candy at Honeydukes?

I will be taking my first trip to IOA in a few months :woohoo: and I was wondering how much the candy is at Honeydukes? I wanted to buy some (as I am a potter nut and have been dying to taste some HP candy) for myself and for friends and family and after the trip, and wanted to know how much it costs. I have read in places that the Chocolate Frogs are $9.99 (YIKES!) and that kind of scared me!

I have a few items that I am really interested in the price of:
Cauldron Cakes
Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans
Chocolate Wands
Chocolate Frogs

I need to know so that I can start to figure out how much I will need to bring on this trip!

TIA!

If I recall correctly, the chocolate frogs were around $10 each, same goes for the chocolate wands.

Cauldron cakes if I recall were around $3 and they are delicious! Try the pumpkin tart as well!

Receipts from September show me...

chocolate wand 7.95 (don't know how this tastes as it was bought as a gift, but it was cute and in a nice box)

chocolate frog 9.95 (the frog is relatively huge...DS is eating a hunk of his frog right now, still has half left, from September (kept in the freezer)) AND there's the wizarding card AND it's a super-cool box that you can put little keepsakes or change or whatever in. I'm not into the flavor of the chocolate, feels fake and almost greasy to me, but DS and DH both like it)

BBBEans 10.95 (while we don't eat them (ingredients don't work for us) they are cute, and the box they come in is adorable.)

Honeydukes bar 4.50 (no clue how this tastes as we haven't opened it yet)

Bertie Botts every flavor beans are $10 in the little boxes but if you ask on of the employees, you can get Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans in 1/2 pound bag for $3.00 or a 1 pound bag for $6.00. The box doesn't even come with 1/4 of the amount of the half pound bag. If you don't care about the look of the box, it is way cheaper just to get some in a bag.

i am a 7 minute drive to the Jelly Belly site. (WS)
i bought the harry potter jelly belly boxes they make for $1.99 each.

same jelly belly that you can get at the shop at hp.

yes.
some of the flavors are icky.

The main reason they are $10 in the box is that for the Potter collectors, the box is what they want. It's the first time the Circus Top box has been made available and Honeydukes is the only place you can get them in that box. The actual beans themselves are easy to come by cheap as others have said through Jelly Belly.

Of course now they are in cheap little boxes, before they used to come in cloth bags, which were first purple and then blue. Those bags are worth $40 a pop now.:rotfl:

awe man, we used to have several of those. My kids kept there stuff in them. Wish I knew what happened to them!

A couple years ago, I purchased a small glass jar containing "Nautious Mint Flavoured Jumping Snakes" (normal peppermint sticks) from IOA for $6.95.

Also be aware that sometimes the same candy that's sold in Honeyduke's is on sale in other shops for different prices. Last time I was there a bunch of Honeyduke's candy was on sale at the large store just inside the park entrance for 50% off. I don't know how often that happens, but it's worth checking.

As impressive as Wizarding World was, I was a bit put off by the souvenier pricing. Even accounting for the fact that it is theme park fare at a new and popular attraction, I couldn't believe what they were charging for everything. Think Skymall pricing. $10 for one of those small chocolate frogs made out of the gross, halloween novelty chocolate...I was shocked. Normally, I wouldn't complain about this type of thing, that just how it is when you are at a tourist location. However, I was truly surprised at the degree to which they set prices.

The prices in the WWoHP are typical Potter prices. I've been collecting for years and have found the WWoHP to be on par and sometimes cheaper than other places that sell Potter merch. The wands are the same price in the park(even cheaper for some) as they are through Nobel as are the jerseys, robes, scarves ect.

I figured that prices would be a bit high. They want to try and make a nice profit from us HP fans. I really don't think I will be buying a chocolate frog, that really depends on how much I end up bringing. There are a few items I have heard about that I just need to get the prices for.

I was just wondering, do they sell the Pumpkin Juice at Honeydukes? How much is it if they do? Thank you!

Augh, it's the box that I want... Are you going to be at Universal between Feb 10 and 16? ;)

LOL...I bought one years ago, and now DH keeps his old gaming dice in it. :rotfl:

You think the frogs are *small*? I really disagree. But it's the box and the wizard card that are the REAL souvenirs there, to us.

macraven indicates the boxes are sold at the JB site...

i sure did.
here is the website:

http://www.jellybelly.com/visit_jelly_belly/wisconsin_warehouse.aspx

Jelly Belly has only two visitor centers.
one in California and the other in Wisconsin.
obviously, i go to the one near me.

if i drive the speed limit, it takes me 7 minutes to get there.
last october i bought the harry potter stuff, jelly belly in the boxes and gave it to homies i meet up at universal.

they didn't ask for it, it was a gift for them.
i'm not a parry hotter fan but most of my friends are.
how could i not treat them with something they would love.....

the stuff is cheaper at the factory near me than at universal.
(i looked at the prices to compare the store up here to the one at the darkside.)

i have been going to the JB center for years.
i used to get the grossest jelly beans for surprises for friends.

vomit was one of the worst of them all.

i should go into business and buy the parry hotter stuff from there.
i bought the bertie boxes, 1.2 oz for $1.99 each.
i see on the link that someone posted above mine that the price is $8.62 for 2 boxes plus shipping.
and they have those frogs and other potter candies.

looks like the price increased since last october.
the bean of bertie went from $1.99 to $2.25.........

i have no idea what they cost at the darkside.

from JB website:
Harry Potter Chocolate Frog
Price: $2.99

Bertie Bott`s Every Flavour Beans - 1.2 oz Box
Price: $2.25

Bertie Bott`s Every Flavour Beans - 1.2 oz boxes - 48-Count Case
Price: $96.99

Bertie Bott`s Every Flavour Beans - 1.2 oz boxes - 24-Count Case
Price: $53.99

i didn't pull anything else up but the frogs and beans.
i'll go there and see what the wands cost if they have them.

i go again in october to the darkside.
if you will be there, i'll shop for you up here.......

ROAD TRIP!

I never made it up there! When ds' were young we thought about it, but they were in hockey (in Kenosha WI) and never seemed that interested - I would google, and show them, but again, no interest!

but why buy the frogs at $10 if I can get them for $2? :confused3

The only boxes I've seen from Jelly Belly directly are the small purple generic ones. That look like this:

I have never seen the Circus Top boxes on the Jelly Belly site or in stores, only at Honeydukes, although it would be nice, especially if they would be cheaper than in the park.:rotfl:

The chocolate frogs online are nothing like the frogs from Honeydukes in the park. The ones online(or in regular stores) are small and come in a small foil package and the Wizard Card is a cheap, small hologram picture card. The one at the park comes in the fancy purple box that is featured in the films, is about 3 times the size and features a sturdy large Wizard Card that is a replica of the ones from the films.

So yeah the one for $2 is a cute Potter candy, but if you want the real stuff for a collection then you have to go for the $10.
