seeing Logan/Boston is much cheaper than either Providence or Hartford
How easy is it to leave the car at the airport for the wk? Is it safe? Easy enough to get to Logan from central MA?

We also live in central MA and have only used Logan once, about 15 years ago. We usually use Southwest out of Providence and occasionally Hartford. If you haven't done so price tickets on Southwest.

DH and I always leave our car at Logan for the week at the Economy Lot. We drive to the lot and take the shuttle bus they have which runs over to Logan (about a 5 minute ride for free). It's about $95 to park for the week.

We live just outside of Boston....park in a secure lot in Chelsea 24/7 security....used to be called Logan Park N Go..... free 5 minute shuttle to the Airport....never a long wait to shuttle back to your car on return....they also have coupons on occasion for 1 free day.

There is always space availble. Do a search on Preflightparking (I'm unable to post the url)

Hope this helps!

The Logan Park and go is now Preflight parking. They are on Eastern Ave. in Chelsea. It's not real hard to get to, but the signs are not the best. They do run frequent shuttles and the airport is only a couple of minutes from the lot (unless the draw bridge is up).

I have used the economy lot at Logan in the past and it was really easy. The shuttle buses were pretty quick. When traveling with my whole family I prefer to pay a little extra for a car service. Depending on how many kids you have and how much luggage it can be difficult. The lot is pretty big and you may have to walk a distance to the shuttle stop. So unload your car and family at the shuttle bus stop then park the car.

The other thing to consider is the time of year you are going. There is nothing worse than getting off a flight with a tired family and having to spend time trying to shovel out your car. We went last March10th and the day before we came home Boston got over a foot of snow..boy was I glad I we used a car service. For us RT taxi with tip is about $150, versus $100 for parking and the hassle.

I really did have a good experience when I used the lot for my business travel because central parking was full. I don't think I would want to use when traveling with a few kids. Good Luck with your decision.

We've flown out of both TF Green and Logan from central Ma. We have used the main garage at Logan and had to remortgage the house to pay for it. So we used the Economy lot. That was $95 for the week. It was a wee bit confusing to get to but dh is pretty good when it comes to finding stuff in Boston. We also wouldn't use it during the winter months because of the snow issue. But, it does make sense to drop off people with the luggage and then just one person has to use the shuttle back. Then we did it in reverse when we got back to Logan. Dh took the shuttle back, dd and I waited for our luggage. We met dh out in the general pick-up area (where Knights and other companies are allowed to pick-up at).
For us...it takes 40 minutes to get to Logan and an hour to get to TF Green. The new tunnel has made it a great ride.
If you don't want to use the Economy lot, or pay the exhorbitant rates in Central parking...is there a car service you could use? Or use the Logan Express out of Framingham. Dh has used them before and enjoyed it.

We use a Park and Fly hotel. This time we are using Hampton Inn in Revere. Free 24 hour shuttle and 2 weeks parking with one nights stay is under 130 with taxes and all. Last time we used Sheraton 4 points. It was fine but their shuttle had no seatbelts that worked and my autistic son about had a breakdown before we even got to the airport. You don't need to drive as far as us but if it saves some $$$...

We always use the HILTON @ Logan Park and Fly! We go in the eve before our flight, park our car safely where we want it in the Hilton lot and start celebrating our WDW vacation with a nice dinner at the Hilton. In the morning the Hilton shuttles us over to JET BLUE for our flight to WDW. When we come back usually my DH goes alone for the car and I wait at Logan with the luggage. He takes the Hilton shuttle over and is back in no time to scoop us up and we are on our way home. Only paid for the overnight stay in the Hilton!!! Try that option!!! Cheaper than parking the car for a week @ Logan! :Pinkbounc

We used them last year when we went to Key West. We found it fine, but the streets are a bit tricky. Service was great, 5 mins to airport and they have shuttles going constantly so there wasn't really much of a wait. I don't remember what it cost though, sorry!

How did you get a good rate at the Hilton? - I'm coming up with $200++ per night not including parking. Did you call them directly or use a TA? thanks

We found that the Hyatt's park & Fly rate was about $100 cheaper than we could get at the Hilton.
