How easy is it to see a Flower Power Concert (Davy Jones)?

Is this something you can stroll in and see or do you have to camp out ahead of time for seats?

It's been a few years since we were there for the concerts, but we saw Garry Puckett, the Grass Roots and Rare Earth and as long as we were there half an hour early we always got decent seats.

The bigger the name, the bigger the crowd. The Davey Jones crowd will be pretty big. :)

We saw Davy Jones 2 years ago at EPCOT. I think we got there about 45 minutes early and had 2nd row seats. My kids weren't very impressed. He did a good job on the Monkee songs, but the one he wrote himself was pretty boring.
Good luck!

We saw Mickey Thomas (I think ) from Starship during F&W in OCtober. Whole show only lasts about 30 minutes and they won't let you go into the seating area once the show starts, even if people leave. :(

I'd have to dig back into my trip report to find which country it reached to, but the line for the Commodores during the F&WF shocked the heck out of me. If I remember correctly, it went all the way from the theater to Germany. If you want to see them up close, get in line and get there early. If you just wanna hear the music and get a glimpse of them, I'd just walk by later - though I'm sure many people get that idea.

If you aren't interested in the music, it's a great time to get on rides and shop in WS. ;)

And I agree, Davy Jones will be popular among the crowd that tends to go to the F&G.

oooooh, fill me in! Is Davy Jones playing at Disney??? When????

Davy Jones & Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) both have large followings. When the Beach Boys were at Epcot last year the line was huge. All depends on the act, some really bring out the locals. I have always enjoyed these shows and "usually" they allow a meet and greet after each show. I have brought albums and had them signed by the artists.

We usually go in the spring and the fall just to see these concerts and in the past it has always been an easy stroll (half an hour before the show) to get front seats but last fall it was wild. We got there for The Beach Boys and the line (2 hours before) was reaching back to Germany and the handicap line while shorter was by no means short either. They had blockades as well. I think that people used to be able to stand in the back and see the concerts. If you are more interested in hearing rather than seeing you could probably easily get a seat over at the American Pavillion restaurant (outdoors) and listen. As far as Davy Jones goes, we saw him a couple of years ago - yawn. I usually stay for all three concerts but left in the middle of the second as he sang the exact same songs each set AND the same exact jokes with the same bored expression. Might have been a bad day for him, we all have them but.

I was at the Commadores concerts too. Loved them!! I always bring my cd's of the artists we are going to see and play them on the way down and back.

I was so excited when I found out the flower festival was still going on during the first weekend of our June trip. We saw some great bands the last time we were there. So I checked the schedule to see who is there the last weekend and it's Arlo Guthrie  No offense to any of his fans, but boy was I disappointed!

We saw both the Animals and the Turtles last year. What a fun time. Flo and his buddy, made the whole concert for us! We didn't understand why there were two lines going in, then found out as AP holders, we could get a special bracelet that would let us go in first, therefore getting pretty good seats. I was disappointed this year, that after we made our ressie's, the schedule was changed, and we don't even know a couple of the groups we'll be there for, but we still expect to have fun.

Here's the schedule:

We came across Paul Revere and the Raiders playing. We grabbed a seat (it wasn't that crowded) and listened. This group was before our time, I'd never heard of them...but they were an AWESOME show! We really got into it! Don't miss them if you are there! They are great! Lots of fun!

Oh Terri, please reconsider. Arlo puts on a wonderful show. Let me tell you, two years ago, me and my in-laws were at Epcot, we had lunch at Japan and just as we were leaving the early show was ablout to begin. So we went in. They so enjoyed it that they insisted we stay and watch the two remaining shows! Each show was different and he even did Alice's Restaurant. His son and daughter also play and sing with him. Please don't prejudge, Arlo is one of the BEST acts scheduled!

I had been trying to get my DH to go to WDW with me. My flight and hotel were booked, but he said NO. I saw that Arlo was on the schedule--and knew I'd get DH to go! I told him about Arlo and within 5 minutes, he was booked on a flight! LOL :cool1:

The concerts really are enjoyable.

Last year, there was reserved seating for AP holders, just had to grab a bracelet at Guest Services the day of the show. Has anyone seen where this will be available for this year?

We found the shows to be full, but plenty of seating available toward the back out from under the cover. The theater is open air, so you can hear the music even outside the venue.

I'd like to know this too! :)
