:yay: So we're off to the World for the whole of Thanksgiving Week!
Our flight leaves at 10 AM.

This period being the busiest period of the year for Air Travel, how early do you all think we will need to be there to be sure of getting thru security, getting everything checked and getting on the plane? One complication (or could be an advantage in this case) is that DS is wheelchair-bound, so we will pre-board, and often get to go thru special security lines; of course it can also take a lot longer since they always need to frisk DS down, ewven in the special line.

I welcome your experiences and/ or opinions on this matter.

Just to clarify some more of the variables, we are flying out of Boston Logan (do I hear tunnel traffic?) on JetBlue.

Thanks for your poll responses so far.

Definitely give yourself no less than 2 hours - 10am is usually one of the peak times too. Saturdays generally aren't too bad, but with the holiday coming up, you never know!

Do you get the Boston Globe? If not, check today's edition online. There's an article in the Business section about Logan travel around Thanksgiving. It's going from about the sixteenth or twenty-fourth busiest airport in the country, to the FOURTH, for the holiday, based on Travelocity research.

Anyway, one of the things in a box accompanying the article is a reminder that only one lane is open in 'the' tunnel, still. Also, they expect it to be busy all week because of the 100,000 or so college students heading home for the holiday.

Because I suffer from a touch of travel planning OCD :bitelip: :rolleyes1 I would probably be rolling out of Newton between 6:15 and 6:30, plan to be at Logan no later than 8 (factoring in potential traffic delays), and give myself 2 hours to get checked in and through security.

I'd much rather be cooling my jets (no pun intended) at the Airport, than sitting in traffic worrying about the flight. ESPECIALLY at the start of a busy holiday travel season.

Thanks for the input folks! kaytieeldr, we did get yesterday's Globe, and I found the article; thanks for the tip. They are recommending "arriving at the airport 30 to 60 minutes earlier than normal" which would put us in the 7:00 to 7:30 range from our habits. And that narrowed tunnel is goona cause us some headache as well, it seems.

Anyone else have advice for us?

Thx
