How early to get a spot for 3pm parade?

How early would I have to arrive to get a decent spot to watch the afternoon parade at MK on a Tuesday in June (June 9) if watching from Frontierland?

We sat down about 40 minutes early on spring break in frontierland and had front row seats. It was a weekday but I'm not sure of the exact day.

It's also important to remember that the afternoon parade (Festival of Fantasy) begins at the far end of Frontierland, and the head of the parade won't even reach Main Street (near the Hub) until about 3:25PM.

Doesn't matter, though. People still crowd main street at almost an hour til' 3pm. Definitely an hour if you want a good spot on mainstreet. Maybe 45 min for fronteirland, though

For us it just ain't the same unless we're eating ice cream and sitting on the curb on Main Street.

Yikes! I didn't realize Frontierland got as busy as Main Street for the parades. I was hoping to just wing it for the festival myself the day before that (6/8) but I guess we'll have to park ourselves early then. I was hoping more like 20 min before parade.

I was hoping the same thing! We were planning on watching from Frontierland to avoid waiting so long for a decent spot.

1. It doesn't. Not by a long shot.
2. Under "normal conditions," you can find a decent spot by, say, 25-30 minutes before FoF parade start-time deep in Frontierland (past Country Bears.)

And, IMHO, this is the best spot to watch FoF. The performers are fresh and as soon as the parade is over, you're free to run to Splash, BTMRR, or PoTC with almost no wait. After having sat in the heat watching that parade, getting hit with a wave on Splash mountain is THE BEST! We watch from the crossover between Frontierland and Adventureland and jump on Splash with pretty much no wait.

Technically, you could park you hind quarters down on the curb at rope drop, but, that would be silly. I have never found a need to ever "find a spot" to see the parade. If I want to see it, I just find a spot that has a clear view of the parade route (doesn't have to be front row) and watch it from there. It usually a difference of about three feet further away. But, follow Robo's advise if you want a front row location.

I have never seen FoF, but, from what you have said it starts in Frontierland. The MSEP starts by the Firehouse so a spot there is a good one as well, then you can either leave the park after seeing the parade (and while it is still going on) or follow it to the other lands.

I prefer Frontierland myself. As pretty as the castle is, I really don't like the view of the parades there. Frontierland makes it feel like I am closer to the action. Glad to hear I don't have to sit around too early for the parade.
