How early to find a spot for Cinematic Spectacular?

Pretty straightforward question, how early do we need to find our spots? In the motherland we start lining up for Wishes/MSEP at least an hour before they begin... is this necessary for CS? We're going the third week of September so low crowds (and keeping our fingers crossed that the show will be going on then).

TIA! :flower3:

I would say 30 minutes or so...it depends on the crowds. If the park is busy then you would want to hang around the area you want to stand but if the park is slow, you shouldn't have any problem getting a good space.

We have had no problems seeing by just walking up somewhere in Central Park. This is all times if the year too. Now if you want to be right up front then get there 30 minutes early as Metro suggested.

Good to know, thank you! I'm trying to figure out what time to make our dinner reservation so that helps a lot. I kept thinking that if dinner ran long we'd miss our opportunity but this makes me feel like we'll be okay. :)

We saw it a couple of times in Juy last year and we never had a problem finding a decent space.

So need for you to rush :)

I saw it a week or two ago and literally walked up to the lagoon as it was starting. Not really recommended but you definitely don't need to be there way before it starts!

I really appreciate all of the responses! I am curious about a few things for those who've watched with little or no waiting...

Where did you stand? Did you have good views of the fireworks and screens? How many in your group?

Thank you! :flower3:

3-10 in group. I have seen it way to many times. We have always watched from Central Park center screen. There is fireworks all around with lots of different effects. Just find yourself in front of one screen and the rest is all around you. When you see it you will understand.

I think the Central Park area (which is near E.T./Simpsons) is the best place for viewing. My old favorite spot was right in front of Simpsons but it's all under construction right now.

The place I walked up to the other day was on the New York side right outside of Starbucks. Definitely not my favorite view but it wasn't awful, either.
