We are taking a red-eye out to MCO in October. I figure that we'll be getting to SSR around 7:45am. Is this too early to check in? I know that we won't be able to get our room until later, mostly I'll be after the parking pass so we can get into the parks.

It just depends what's available from the night before. Last time we were at VWL we checked in at 10 am. I was very surprised that our room was ready, so I'm assuming no one was in it the night before. That was also in October, so maybe because it's a slower month.........

When we transfered resorts this past May I asked how early I could check in and was told as early as I like, but that a room would not be ready unitl later on. They did tell me that the earlier I check in the higher up on the wait list I would be... As it turned out we ended up getting a room about 10:30 AM

We just lucked out with the room assignment time, but I'd suggest that you call to make sure you can check in that early and get on the wait list as early as you can.

I heard of someone getting to OKW earlier than expected, about 2:00 in the morning. They were supposed to check in later that morning so they checked to see if they could rent a room for the rest of the night before they officially checked in. The front desk CM gave them a vacant room and told them because it was after midnight on the day they were to check in it was an early check in and there would be no extra charge. So I guess you can check in as early as you want, and the room might be ready.

I've been told that 6 am is the earliest the system will allow a checkin for that day.

I checked in at 8am on a Sunday morning and the room was also ready by 11am and this was at the Beach Club Villas of all places.

We got lucky this past trip. On 8/11/04 we arrived at SSR at 11:30 AM and checked right into our studio.

On 8/14 we moved over to a studio at OKW and got it at 4 PM. Our kids joined us on 8/18 and we got into our 2 bedroom at OKW on 8/18 at 2 PM.

Then we were moving from OKW to SSR on 8/22. I drove over to SSR at 7 AM and there was a 2 bedroom already for us.::MickeyMo

I am taking one of those red-eye flights, from the west coast, as well.
I don't really expect to be able to check in very early.

I am wondering, where is the best place to take a nap, in Saratoga Springs?

Staying up for over 24 hours, then going to bed early the next night, is good for adjusting to the new time zone.

We are taking the same red-eye from Seattle this coming Monday night, so i have been asking some of the same questions!

One piece of advice that i got, that i think is very helpful is upon checking in very early, ask not only if your room is ready, but if any room would be available. Sometimes the room you were assigned, accd to requests, etc is not ready, but another similar room may be.......after 4 hours of sleep, all the requests may not make too much difference to us......we'll let you know how it goes!

We've checked into BCV that early and our room was ready! It was a H/A room (that we had requested/needed). So I wasn't sure if that's why it was ready or not?
