How Early is Too Early to Plan??? - TR Link Added - 12/29

Sounds perfectly logical to me having your son behind the tractor. Of course this is coming from a guy who barely knows what a tractor is :lmao:

Wow, your ADRs are coming up! Your trip is getting close! As someone who recently planned a trip with a #notDisneyside person in tow, I can empathize with you and the challenges you're facing with your FIL. Hope he ends up having a good time with his family. :goodvibes

x
I think it's a good call, staying with where you're at, at AoA. Especially since you don't sound that thrilled about moving to a Mod to see very little savings. I think you guys will be just great at AoA, IMO.

I totally get you about the rain. We didn't have a lot of rain this past Winter (as it seems to be the case more and more every year:sad2:) so we get excited when there's even an hour of rain for all our farmers. It started raining randomly a lot last month which has been great!

Yay! Almost one month before ADR time :cool1: Of course there's changes. There's always changes but that's the fun part!

Oh no, hopefully your FiL will have a great time once he's actually there and gets to see how much fun you and your family have while there.

Such great pictures of your DS on the tractor!

Just read your entire PTR!!! I love it because, as you can see from my ticker, I won't be going to disney again for at least a year, so I like seeing how you have progressed!!! :)

I'm back and trying to get caught up!
Don't worry about catching up here. I'm ready to see your TR so I can see if you're going to change my mind on any of my ADR choices!!! :rotfl2:

First I'm sorry that work has been so difficult lately. I know that the life of a farmer is never easy. :goodvibes
Thanks

I feel for you with the resort choice issue. I wish that you could come to an agreement on a mod because POR is really really great. However, we did a meal at WL and another at FW this past week and I shocked myself by really liking WL! I would stay there in a minute! I hope that a good discount comes available for you there. It looks lovely. (and WCC is there for you!) :lmao:
WCC is just *one* of the many reasons I love that place. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear what the ADR choices are, you know I love Disney Dining!
That goes without saying. :rotfl2:

They've got to learn sometime! I was driving tractors by myself by the time I was about 8. My dad even welded up these extensions that we would bolt onto the pedals when I was driving so that I could reach them. :lmao:

I'm sure it will be ok. He won't be a downer during the trip, he'll just keep it to himself. But then I can see where we'll come home and I'll hear from my BiL or my SiL when he's been complaining about how miserable he was... I just really don't want it to be that way.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

We're getting plenty right now... and after 85 degree weather last week, we're getting lows in the 30's and chances of snow in the forecast. :faint:

Sometimes fun... sometimes frustrating. :lmao:

I really hope that's the case. We're definitely going to spend more time watching movies at World Showcase and seeing shows at DHS. I'm sure he'll enjoy some of those things. I failed to mention this part, but when we were talking about the trip, DW did mention Hall of Presidents, and then when I started talking about the American Experience he really seemed to think that sounded interesting. :thumbsup2

:welcome:

It is definitely hard to plan a trip knowing it is so far away. But that's better than not having a trip to plan. I'm excited about the fact that we have Disney World and Disneyland coming up back to back... but in the back of my mind I'm already a little bit sad because I don't know when we'll be going back. Or rather how soon DW will let me take us back. :rotfl2::lmao:

It stinks having to deal with people who don't seem happy but don't offer any suggestions either. I hope that you work out a good ADR plan.

I'm glad that you finally got some rain! Your son looks adorable driving the tractor :) My cousins grew up on farms and they drove tractors and other similar vehicles at young ages too.

You? Make Changes? Never would have guessed it! :lmao::lmao:

Glad you got your much needed rain (an hour ago it was snowing in Downtown Chicago ). I love the pics of your son driving. :)

We'll see how it goes. We've made a couple more changes this week. DW has exercised her veto power on one.

Thanks. It's part of growing up! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

At least we're doing it before ADR booking, rather than 2 weeks before the trip! :lmao::rotfl2:

Well, I'll certainly think twice before I complain about being tired.... Sounds like you have kept pretty dang busy. I hope once all the corn and soybeans are planted you get a chance to rest for a few weekends/evenings.

What kid doesn't love driving machinery? Looks like your DŚ had a blast driving your tractor, and at least on that he wasn't damaging vehicles.

Sorry to hear your FiL isn't being very helpful as far as trip planning goes. Gotta love in-laws, right. I can feel your pain. I just say do your best, plan what you feel they'd enjoy, and if they don't so be it. At least you know for sure you and your kids will be having a blast.

Keeping my fingers crossed a 40% discount becomes available for a deluxe!

We're finished and life is getting more back to normal. :thumbsup2

He loved it. He thought he was pretty hot stuff.

I'll definitely have fun. I don't care about anyone else. If they want to be miserable they can go off and do that on their own! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

It would be nice, but I'm kind of giving up hope at this point. :confused3 I'm happy with what we have.

2 Weeks until our ADRs... and plans are changing by the day. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

We'll get something planned and booked, for sure. :thumbsup2

We are planning a small weekend trip in a couple of weeks. We're going to take DD and DS to Kings Island. Basically, because they have a new roller coaster called Banshee that I really, really, really want to ride. But the reason I'm using to get this trip in is so that we can take the kids to a park and kind of see how they like things. Especially now that DS is tall enough to ride "medium" coasters. If he freaks out and hates it that will definitely impact our FP+ plans for Disney. We're going to go to KI on a Friday and then my Father's Day gift will be going to a Reds game the following day. Should be a fun weekend. :thumbsup2

Since I shared some farming updates earlier, we did get finished planting everything. We've been getting some timely rains so far and things are off to a good start. Right now we're applying nitrogen to the corn and getting ready to spray everything once we get that done. I spent some time this weekend putting nitrogen on. I don't mind doing it at all, but it is probably the most stressful job. First of all, it takes a lot of concentration. If you stop paying attention for just a little bit you run over corn. And secondly, the anhydrous ammonia that we inject to the soil that supplies the nitrogen... it is some dangerous stuff. If you come in contact with it, it can freeze/burn you on contact, and if you breathe the vapors it just takes your breathe away. Whenever I'm working with that stuff, I can "smell" it for the next few days even if I'm not around it. The fact that meth heads are always stealing this stuff to make their meth is enough to convince me that is some dangerous crap that I want nothing to do with. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

and MiL just said that they're along for the ride and just want to do whatever we want. And here we are trying to make sure FiL has a good time, or at the very least isn't miserable... No pressure or anything.

yeah! Good luck with that! :rotfl2: Especially when they start asking to go to a certain restaurant two weeks before the trip or, better yet, when you get there. :faint: Hopefully that won't happen and you can make choices that will keep everyone happy! Hey - it could happen. ::yes::

You put him in the driver seat of a 300 HP tractor with a 30' cultivator behind it. :thumbsup2

.

Awesome! Truly awesome! That has to be every boy's dream. Well, probably operating a backhoe would be their ultimate dream but then there's always child protective services! Just sayin!

That sounds like a great weekend! I loved taking my kids to local amusement parks when they were little. It was the BEST!

I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by several corn fields (well, actually they do rotate the crops and this year its corn versus soybean) and that is the exact height of the corn in my local fields. I always think of the saying "knee high by the fourth of July" and its usually a lot taller than that. But this year its growth seems to be stunted a bit.

Great excuse to go to KI. In a few years I can't wait to take grandkids to a little amusement park here in Iowa. I will wait till both are a little bigger as I don't care for the park it self but for little ones it should be fun.
Can't wait to hear what ADR you start with.

Well, I'm certain they won't ask for a certain restaurant 2 weeks out, because they know literally nothing about what is available. We've simply just asked for specific cuisine requests and were willing to explain some options, but... :confused3

He had a blast. But it must have been tiring. Shortly after he got up to let me drive again, he laid down on the floor and went to sleep. :rotfl2:

I love KI. It is only about 2 hours away, and we really should go more often. But I'm a roller coaster addict, and they have several that are pretty amazing.

I've got a feeling it will get there. Some sunlight and moisture over the next month will really make it take off. :thumbsup2

It is always a good time! We haven't gone there in a couple of years, but DS had a blast on the little kid rides and I had a blast on the big kid rides. :lmao:

Your ADR day is really approaching fast now! Can't wait to see what you end up booking.

That picture of your DS on the tractor is just simply adorable!! :goodvibes

 :scared1:  :scared1:

Thanks for the reminder! I'd better get to work and get this list finalized!

Kind of, maybe, sort of. At least until it changes... :rolleyes1 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Go ahead Kathy... tell me what you didn't like this time and I'll be sure to add it to our list! :lmao:

Actually, all but one of our meals was good. We will NOT go back to Tusker House breakfast. Chefs de France we had a bad waiter, but the food was good. We fell in love with Kona Cafe for dinner.

You're not going to believe this... but after we re-shuffled a few things, Tusker House Breakfast made the list.
