How Early is Too Early to Plan??? - TR Link Added - 12/29

Great vacation! I've learned that kids are perfectly happy to spend all of their time on the beach or at the pool. It's amazing how they can just go for hours on the sand or in the water.

It looks like that makes two of us who fried our phones running after our kids into the ocean. ;)

Well, they could go for hours, but there was always that element of wanting to be in the pool if we're at the beach or vice versa. I mean they are kids after all. :lmao::rotfl2:

I know! I was just kind of shaking my head laughing about it when I read your TR. My story is significantly less scary though. I probably actually had time to drop mine off at our chairs before I took off after him if I had actually thought about it. :rotfl2::lmao:

I came to your TR first because I figured it would have the least updates and I could catch up fastest on it. :lmao::lmao: I guess, if I were honest, Barry's would have been a better choice but I figured why even bother going over there.

Your view was absolutely amazing. What a nightmare though about pulling into the hotel and the luggage and parking the car, etc.

Your kids are just simply adorable...I can't think of a better word to describe them.

I found out this last trip I'm not a big "sand" person either. But I do wear my water shoes because of all the seashells so that helps a little.

Anxious to hear more Disney plans.

And your son gets a :thumbsup2 for saying he wanted to go to Disney the next day.

Sorry. Don't worry though, I have very little to add right now. It will probably be pretty quiet around here for the next couple of months. :rotfl2:

The room and view were fantastic. Overall, I'd recommend the resort. But they could have had a little bit more staff available and some better organization out front for check in during the mid afternoon time in the summer.

Thank you!

I'm not a big fan of having the stuff in my shoes. I've got to be barefoot if I'm on sand. What I hate is hot sand.

Anxious to hear more Disney plans.
Me too. Gotta get time to talk to DW about it so there's more to discuss here.

And your son gets a :thumbsup2 for saying he wanted to go to Disney the next day.
Definitely! That was awesome!

Whoops. Somehow I missed your last updates. Sorry about that.

Looks like it was a nice week overall. I'm with you on getting restless at the beach. It's great for one or two days, but then we need something to do. Variety is the spice of life.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 on training DS to prefer Disney.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: on the cell phone disaster. It's funny because it wasn't me. But I can see myself doing that.

Amazing the difference between late-night Walmart and early-morning Walmart, isn't it? You can see some things in that place you just don't see anywhere else.

:sad2: for DD not wanting anything to do with the sand. Again, this further reinforces the "1-2 days is enough" idea.

Anyway, thanks for bringing us along and I'm looking forward to the next Disney trip...and :woohoo::cool1: for the possibility of DL in 2015! That's awesome!

As I read this update, I thought to myself, "Haven't I read this story before?" :rotfl:

The view from your room looks beautiful! We really enjoyed PCB a couple years ago. I'd like to go back at some point for a relaxing long weekend. We are always too go-go-go on our vacations. Although I will keep a mental reminder to avoid Wal Mart on a Monday night. :lmao: That sounds awful!! In college, DH and I both worked at the same restaurant and both worked the Saturday night shift, getting off around 10 or 10:30 pm. We would go home, shower, and head out to Wal Mart around midnight. It was fantastic! Then we had to become real adults and shop during the daytime hours, and it sucked!

Cute pics of the kiddos in the sand, and I LOVE the ones of DD playing with her reflection in the mirror! How adorable!

Sounds like y'all had a great beach trip! :thumbsup2 The pictures of your little ones are just too cute!

That really stinks about the phone though. :headache:

How awesome that you get to plan a trip to DLR!! :cool1: I hope to get there one day.

I can see how that happens when something hasn't been updated in a while like that. I mean, Tim's updating his TR again, but how many people have actually paid any attention to it? :rolleyes1

It was me and I still think it is kind of funny...

Why else would there be a website dedicated entirely to the things you see there?

Exactly.

I can't wait. I just hope it doesn't fall through on me now that I'm already getting excited about it.

As I read this update, I thought to myself, "Haven't I read this story before?" :rotfl:
:rotfl: Dave's was just a little bit scarier... but we are both phone killers.

The view was great. I really like staying there.

I'm all for a day or 2 of nothing but relaxation on vacation. I just need something to do too.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I just try to avoid it at all costs when possible. But that night was just :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Thanks! I think her favorite part of the whole trip was that mirror.

I like my new one better, so that helps!

How awesome that you get to plan a trip to DLR!! :cool1: I hope to get there one day.
I'm planning it! I just hope that the trip I'm planning gets to happen.

Well... specifically, it would be either before or after a conference that will take place Jan 11 - 14 in San Diego. I can't pass on an opportunity to go to Disneyland when I should have an opportunity to at least be that close without having to pay for a plane ticket.

That will be the most perfect time to go. It's a little chilly early in the mornings and late at night, but nice during the day:thumbsup2 If you go before the conference, sometimes they keep the Holiday decor up through the beginning of January like around the 7th. Otherwise after the conference will be great with no crowds. Kids are back in school by then:dance3:

I'm kind of leaning towards going after the conference, but we'll have to see how it works out for us getting time off closer to then. I just think it would be pretty depressing to leave Disneyland after a couple of days to go sit through sessions at a conference. If we do Disneyland after, then I have something to be distracted by and think about while I'm sitting there. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

He had to stop by. I just called him out as a DIS slacker in the DDC. Watch for an update to his TR later today... :rolleyes1

Good for you, and I won't hold my breath for an update.

But then again, it is Tim we're talking about here. :rotfl2::rotfl:

This is the man who told me to slow down on my TR and I did and he hasn't been back since. Therefore, I finished an entire day. :)

Sorry, I don't DIS on the weekend. I work. However I've been stalking the Oct & Nov canceled ADR threads trying to snag a BOG ADR.

I'll try to stop in to yours tonight Kathy after work, and back here to try and catch up. Keep in mind I have an update to write. ;)

I live about 2 hours away from Panana City, and I know exactly what you're talking about when it comes to dealing with the crazy parking and busy stores. It can be a madhouse there sometimes. If your ever doing another beach trip by the gulf and just want to stay at the resort for the week, I'd suggest traveling a little bit west. We have the same gorgeous beaches and plenty of tourist spots, but it's nothing in comparison to Panama City.

Young kids tend to not like sand very much. Must be a texture thing. :confused3 At least you guys had your daughter set up nicely with a chair, a blanket, and food. What else could a kid need?:rotfl:

Sounds like it was a nice trip, overall, and it's good to see your son had his vacation priorities in the right place. :lmao:

Well, it looks like a certain place froze over last night... :rotfl2:

Good luck with that. And I'm glad you're at least staying busy.

Might be worth looking into, but I'm not sure when we'll be making another trip like that again. I always prefer to do a day or 2 at the beach with a few Disney days.

Truthfully though, I didn't really intend to just stay at the resort until we got there and just decided it was easier that way. :rotfl2::lmao:

I really don't think she could be any happier than just hanging out in the shade and snacking. She really had it made! :rotfl:

It definitely was fun and DS saying that was one of the highlights! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

SO I just read your intros... (and haven't gotten any further yet...)

So this TR is a PTR about a trip that might not happen?:confused3

I'm in! :thumbsup2
