Ok, I know that we need to get to the park early even on an EMH day. What time does mainstreet open on those days?

What time should I get the bus from ASMO to arrive at the best time? Or should I just drive?

(Another question, do the buses at the resort wait until they fill up before they leave for a park)

When I was there in April, I went to MK on an EMH day and the turnstiles didn't open until 8. I stayed at ASMu (Asmo's next door neighbor), and I think I got on the bus sometime between 7:15 and 7:30. I got there in plenty of time--I wasn't at the front of the line to get in, but still got on several rides before the official opening. The buses generally only stay at the stop for a couple of minutes--basically just long enough for everyone who is at the stop when it gets there to get on. I think I saw only one almost full bus in the morning in my entire 8-night stay, and that was going to Epcot. Most of the time there were less than 10 people on the bus.

We have stayed at All Stars (sports and music) multiple times. I agree that 7:15 -7:30 bus should get you to MK in plenty of time for EMH. I think the "conventional wisdom" is that one should never drive to MK if staying on property. Going through TTC will slow you down greatly.

I agree....take the bus. First bus should run at 7, the next will be about 7:15. It takes about 18 minutes to get to MK from ASMo. I would take the 7:15 bus, but if you miss that one, get the next!! Don't miss the last bus that comes before 7:30!!

Another reason you should take the bus, is that the first monorail doesn't leave the TTC until 15 or so minutes before regular opening time. This is to keep the resort guests separated from day guests (it probably makes it easier on the cast members at the front gates who check your resort id's when going through the turnstiles).

Getting there early is really fun too. The CM's will laugh and joke and the characters will sometimes come out too. You might even get to open the park. I agree take the bus, no later than 7:15 and you will be in great shape.

Last week Main Street did not open early like on our previous trips. They now do a little song and dance with the crowd from the balcony of the train station ending with a "park open countdown" then it's a mad rush for Mainstreet, etc.

Keep this in mind. On slow days they often send one bus to pick up at all three of the All Star Resorts. If you're in Sports you may be making a stop at Music and Movies before heading out. I would try to catch the first or second bus if you can. Since you're in Movies you're only concern may be standing for the 12 minute ride.

Thanks everyone, we will plan to be on the 7:15 bus.

Wish I was a morning person!!!!!!!!!!

I always find that getting up early for anything Disney is always easy to do. One thing that might help you get the day started is the monrning wake-up call from Mickey Mouse. Put it on the speakerphone in your room for everyone to enjoy...it always starts the day off (no matter what time the day actually starts off) just right.

Enjoy your EE...
