How early for Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular?

How early do you need to arrive to get a decent spot for SW:GS? Also, does it get like Main St. for HEA? Will we be crammed in like sardines?

It's a smaller area vs Main St and you'll be right next to everyone else, but it doesn't have that crammed in feel imo. When I see the fireworks I like to be center and about 20 yards back from the stage area. Wife and I usually show up about 30-45 min prior to showtime. I'd recommend arriving at least 30 min early if you want a specific spot or if you have kids or anyone short that would need a specific viewpoint to see.

In October, we did a jump in line right before park closing ride on Slinky Dog. The Star Wars fireworks were at 8:30 and the park closed at 8. As we were heading out, they were just starting. We easily found a good spot to stop and watch and while not a packed day in DHS, it definitely wasn't uncrowded. A little congested heading out, but nothing like HEA.

The last time we saw it, we walked right up as it was starting and easily found a great spot. I would not arrive too much in advance unless you had a small child or ECV and wanted to plant yourself at the front of one of the tape lines.

Thanks everyone. Not going until next year but I was trying decide if I needed to budget for the dessert party. My group wouldn't do well waiting over an hour for the show but 30-45 minutes is reasonable.

When leaving DSH I had to walk through the Center Stage area just as Movie Magic was ending and on many, many nights Guests could have walked up and found a good spot. You'll be fine as long as it's not during a holiday period. It's nice, but it's not necessary to do the party in order to get a good viewing spot.
