How early do you start packing?

We leave May 19, I think right about now sounds like a good time to start packing. My DH is still new at being such a Disney fanatic. He has been a couple times but this time, he is as excited as me and I think he will be ready to start packing soon! :cheer2:

I leave on the morning of April 19 and am already packed. In fact I packed two days after I made the reservation: so I have been packed for over a week already.
I do not wish to take a large suitcase, just two carry-bags, so I have to plan very carefully. I make sure to have laundry deterent tabs with me: I still have one box of the tablets that I bought just to take to Disney for laundry. This time I will have to do laundry twice during the nine days.
I know that I will have to repack at least once more a couple of days before I actually leave forWDW.
:wizard:

I always start buying things as few months in advance. This way I am not spending a ton of money in one shot. But as for the packing...at least one month prior. I bring so many things...and it isn't the clothes...it is all the little extras. And the backpack for the parks...I always have bandaides, advil/motrin, tissues, Lip SPF, sunglasses, Wetones wipes, camara, film etc.
That is all the little extra stuff that I buy in advance & set it aside.

The clothes packing starts one month before. :cheer2: :rotfl:
I know....but just get so anxious & excited!!! :Pinkbounc

Usually start packing about a week before and start finding stuff all the time that I want to take with me on trip. :)

Since we are driving down with the travel trailer, all I have to do is bring the clothes outside and put them in the closets in the trailer. However, with all the snow we have, I can't get into the trailer to get packing. My DH wants to be on the road by 4:00 p.m. on 4/14. He says it will not happen as we are always still rushing around getting everything set at the last minute whenever we go camping. He is being such a pain in the butt about it, that I WILL ABSOLUTELY have everything done a few days before just to prove him wrong.

Here's to hoping the snow melts and we don't get anymore, then I can get packed hopefully a few weeks before we go (clothes and such anyway). Won't be doing the grocery shopping probably until the weekend before we go.

I have an excel spreadsheet that I saved from last trip. It's got all the little things that are easy to forget or that I wished I had brought the time before. All I have to do is change the clothing info according to the duration of the trip and the weather and I'm set. Actually putting things in a suitcase comes about 1 week before leaving. :)

I'm so surprised that we're one of the FEW that just pack the night before! Our climate is similar to Orlando's, so we're wearing the stuff here that we'll be wearing there. Can't buy a whole new wardrobe just for the trip!

I'll make my list probably this weekend and head out and buy the toiletries and stuff. Getting DS16 to pack clothes is like Waiting for Godot, and DS5 sees us packing and thinks we're gonna be in the car in 5 minutes! LOL.

So we "mentally" pack days ahead, but really put the stuff in the night before or the morning of. We always drive. Maybe that has something to do with it, too. Not a super strict time schedule like a plane departure time!

Maybe tonight I'll get the suitcases down and feel better about myself and this thread!! :)

I start picking up odds & ends about 6 weeks out. If I read a good tip that I need to get something for, I'll do that right away & put it in my toiletry kit so I don't forget about it.

I'm about 4 weeks out & just went thru my toiletry bag to make sure I didn't need to buy anything. I made a list of a couple odds & ends based on that. From here on, I'll start making a small pile of that stuff.

Clothes won't get packed til the night before, although I'll have to pull stuff out of storage & get it washed the week before. I have started to break in a new pair of shoes that I want to bring & ordered a pair of Crocs to break in.
