How far in advance to you book your trips? I am hoping (dreaming :goodvibes ) of a trip maybe next November/December. Is it easy to re-book to upgrade or change to a new deal? Please share all your ideas and advice!!!

Hi -If you are booking room-only then it's not difficult. We booked room-only for March 2007 in June 2006 and then called back in August 2006 and applied the CAA discounted rate. You just need to put down a one-night deposit and that is fully refundable so there is no downside (I think you can cancel up to a week before your arrival). That room res will allow you to book your ADRs once your 180 day window open up. We only booked that early as we have never been on March break before so we didn't know how quickly resorts would fill up (we wanted pofq). We just booked our flight with US Air so that really locks us in (due to US Air's high change fee costs), but if you don't book your flight then you can really change just about anything.

We are eager beavers and are always planning our next vacation. We generally get air tickets with points and the earliest is 356 days in advance for departure and return...so, as soon as our return date is within the 356 days our airline tkts are booked!

The resort reservation soon follow :cool1:

We generally travel the same time each year so once plans are made not much changes.

Beware.....most air portion of the trips are very hard to make changes. Hotel changes are much easier but always check to see what the penaltys are when making the intial reservation.

Already started planning our next trip for sept 2007. Free dining or not, we plan on taking advantage of the low crowds at that time of year.

I also have a 240$ Jetblue credit that I cannot waste soooo, I'd say as soon as we get back from this vacation, we will be calling Disney reservation to book the next trip.

I gotta have a ticker!

It depends on what time of the year, whether or not you're staying in a DVC Villa, whether or not you're also going on a Disney cruise, etc. But in general, I would say book at least 6 months in advance (or earlier for busy times). You can no doubt get away with booking later than that, but I wouldn't risk it.

We book our rooms at 11 months in advance mind you that is all we can book as we are DVC members mind you we have allready booked our campsite at FW for Dec 2007. We booked that about a month or so ago.

I usually book room-only and flights about 6 months in advance, then start filling in other things. I have to book my CAT into her home-away-from-home accommodations about 4 months in advance for holiday periods!! Our last spur-of-the-moment trip (not to Disney), the cat was the biggest difficulty to take care of!
