How early can you check in?

How early can you check in to RP or HRH? This is an extreme case but thought I'd ask the experts. Can you you check in at 12:01 AM for the following night? and get room keys that are good for the parks but not active on a room yet? Or do you have to wait until around 7AM, or what? I may have to pick up one person at MCO around 11:45 PM and drive right by US to WDW and could check in and be ready to go in the AM. Is this possible? Thanks.

I'd like to know the same thing. We are driving down from NY with a pit stop in NC. Just wondering if someone will be at the front desk. We are staying at PBH.

Hmmm. I'm not sure about that. It always seemed like there was someone at the front desk, even when we came crawling in at 3am. I'd call the hotel and ask.

i can only tell you how it was for me on four different trips.
check in is around 2 pm. if the hotel was sold out the night before or if hrh was near full capacity, you will not be able to check in after midnight.
in my four trips, i have checked in, received my room key, stored my luggage then gone to the parks. you are given a number to call (after 2) to receive your room number. when you return to hrh, you can go directly to your room. your hotel key has been computer set for usage.
i am a gold member of loews and can request and have it honored for a late check out which is 2 pm on my check out day. when hrh has late check outs, thats less rooms available for people coming in the morning to check in.
with hhn, october is not an easy time to get early check in at hrh.

if you are going in a low season and the hotel is at 50% capacity, you might get lucky with an early check in that you need. just don't bet the baby on it....
hope this helps. i am sure, it can be different for all people. for my october trip, i dread the check in process.............i would rather have all in my room and be situated before i go to the parks, especially with hhn happening.
::yes::

I think someone is at or around the front desk at all hours. I've checked in at 7 am. I bet you could check in at 12:01 but I'd call.

When you land or are close if driving call them and ask if you can check in early. They usually are strict if hotel is full.

check in is at 4 PM.

midnight night before would be a really early check-in.

A few years back, I checked into the Beach/Yacht Club Resort at 2:30 AM...but we were charged for the night!

AspiringCindy: You actually checked into a room though right? We dont want to check in until after 4PM the next day-no room assignment until then. I'm calling today to ask and will update the response.

Well I called and never got the same answer on check in times because I went through the web site phone number which is not the actuall hotel. Anyway I booked the RPR for $197 AAA August 14 (PFB was only $204-if we were staying I would have taken it), it is good for 2 adults and 3 kids-passes. She called RP to ask when we could check in they said anytime you want. I pressed her and she said for sure 7AM. Knowing that would work is good enough for me. Then I thought I called HRH from the number on this thread-turned out to be central ressie and I asked him if we could check in at 12:01 and he said no. So I guess we will leave WDW around 7:30 AM, check in around 8:15 and hit the parks. Naps available in the room. Yea.

I think there's a distinction to be made between checking in and getting a room. Now with FOTL for hotel guests, they pretty much let you check in anytime on the day of your arrival. You'll just have to wait to get into a room until the afternoon.

Most people check in, store their bags, and head to the parks with their room keys.
