....and what info. do you need to get into EMH?

does anyone know how early in the day the Disney resorts will let you check-in? "worst case" is that i'd like to check-in by about 6:30 or 7am, but BEST case is that we'd be able to check-in sometime soon after midnight. is that possible? obviously, our room still may not be available until after 3 pm, but we'd like to take advantage of a morning Extra Magic Hours without having to stay on-property the previous night.

i'm assuming that our check-in info. would be enough, as we won't have room keys?

thanks,

For the EMH's and what not I beleive in order to get the bracelets you will need to show your room key. One for each person.

You will be given a room key. You just won't know exactly what room it fits. If your room is not ready, they will show you the general area and when you call later they will give you the number.

I have previously read on these boards that you can check in as early 7:00. But I haven't tried it.

that's right! i can't believe i couldn't recall getting the room keys early, after being there so many times over the last few years!

thanks for the information! i might call over to the Beach Club and see what they say about checking in.

thanks,

I would say your chances of checking in at 7am are zero.

I would say your chances of checking in before noon, even, are slim to none!

Not to sound negative...but I don't think they'd do it even if they had the rooms available.

If you want the extra day, just pay for a room and stay overnight.

I do not know how early they will allow you to check in but our flights have arrived in the morning and we have checked in before noon many times. Sometimes the room is available and sometimes we have to call back to find out our room number. Either way we are given our tickets to the world (room key/tickets/DDP). We love arriving early so we can get the most out of the day. They are very accomodating about keeping our luggage until our room is available.

They will allow you to check in. Chances are the room will not be ready but you could get your keys to the world cards and head off to the parks as a resort guest.

Disney will allow you to check in but be prepared that a room that is clean is available at that time.

You can check in from around 6:30AM to any time later. If you try to check in at midnight or there abouts, you are actually checking in late for the previous day.

Your room may not be available until after 3PM. But they will give you your room ID with any charging privileges that you request (tied to a credit card). You'll need to ride in on the resort transportation to get in for morning EMH or provide a room ID at the Ticket and Transportation center to get on the monorail. Don't try to drive to AK for EMH in the morning because the parking lot doesn't open very early and you could miss most of the EMH.

And this is totally wrong.

Have ckecked it at the BWV at 9 am and got our rm.

You could call the Hotel before you arrive and see if they can put you in for a request of an early check in. If not as other posters said you can get your keys early and have them store your luggage.

I guess I should have been more specific...you can technically check in whenever you get there, but actually getting a room at that hour? I stand by my original post...at 6:30am? No way!

I got one at the Beach Club Villas at 7AM.

Checked in a little after 6 am. Room was ready at 4, but I had the keys and the dining plan at 6 am so I could use them that day.

When we got back to the hotel around 5, the keys worked fine. No need to go back to the front desk.

Recent anecdotal evidence: Two weeks ago we flew in on a red-eye. ME got us to the Poly about 6 a.m. The lobby was deserted at that hour but the coffee bar was open on the 2nd floor and we were able to get a hot breakfast at Captain Cook's at 6:30. We then waited near the front desk and precisely at 7 a.m. a desk clerk emerged. Our originally assigned room wasn't ready but we were happy to take one they had ready immediately instead. Of course, you can't count on this, but it does happen.

thanks for everyone's thoughts...

I just called Guest Services at Beach Club and was informed that I could check-in anytime that day (and when I asked specifically if I could check-in any time after midnight, she said "well, yes, you can"). I understand that you talk to different CMs at different times and you can get different answers, but this info., along with those of you who have mentioned that you have checked in at 6 and 7 am, has helped me at least tentatively plan our day.

(as i mentioned, i don't need the room itself until normal check-in time).

have a good night!

Great information to know. Take advantage of every minute in Disney World that you can! :thumbsup2

Wait...so if you check in just after midnight, what are you going to do until "normal check in time"...or the parks open? Sleep in the lobby? I'm confused.

There is a time overnight when the computers go down so no one would be able to check in.

yes, i can see why you'd be confused with the info. i've provided...for what it's worth, we're debating staying on-property for the 5 days prior to our check-in at the beach club (have been calling to check on availability for the last week or so, but darn WDW for having so FEW resort options for a family of 5!), but we currently have plans to stay with friends off-property until our check-in...i don't have any concrete plans, we're just trying to make sure we know all of our options!
