I know that the Check-In time is 4pm for DVC resorts. I was wondering what is the earliest you have gotten into your room. We are planning on going in January 2003 and will need to get into the room as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on getting in much before 4:00 p.m. -- especially at Boardwalk. Sometimes you get lucky, but they usually stick pretty much to the 4:00 p.m. time -- you might get in at 2:00 or 3:00 but very early a.m. entry is unlikely.

If the most important thing is getting into the room, you could ask for whatever is ready without regard to any requests.

Sorry I can't help answer your question. I don't have enough experiences to draw on yet.

I just wanted to say that I love your BCV logo! :)

The early availability depends on several things:

Resort occupancy
Check out time of previous occupant
Housekeeping schedule.

As PamOKW mentioned, if you are willing to accept whatever is ready at the time you arrive, you can sometimes get lucky (but don't plan on getting any requests).

Even if the room isn't ready, you can get your passes and head for a park, take a swim or just explore WDW. The resort will store your luggage, including perishable items, until your room is ready at 4pm.

Good Luck!

On our 2 OKW trips, the room was ready at 1:00pm when we arrived, the second time we waited until 3:30pm.

On our 2 BWV trips, the room was ready when we arrived at 3:00pm the first time, the second time we arrived at 1:30pm and it was ready about 2:30pm. The second time the front desk cm checked to see if any other standard 1 bedrooms were ready when we arrived, but there weren't.

Once we didn't get in until after 4:30. We went to MGM and called on a phone to find out when the room was ready. This trip we arrived at 10 in the morning and we got in right away. I had a nasty stomach virus and was quite green from the trip so we were so thankful. All I wanted was a bed. The CM did tell us that it wasn't the best view but we didn't care. We switched over to the VWL a few days later and we got in our room there before noon. I guess we were just lucky this time but it does happen.

I was at the BWV for 24 nights in Jan/Feb. Due to the fact that I was either solo or had guests, I switched rooms several times, studio to 1-bedroom and back. I checked in around 10:30 a.m. each time, and following are the actual times my room was ready:
studio 5:20 p.m. (not happy!)
1 bedroom 3:30
studio 4:30 (garbage left in room from previous tenant)
1 bedroom 3:50 (room was immaculate!).
I hope you have better luck than I did!

We usually get to a DVC resort aroud 10am. More often than not, we have to wait until 2-4pm to get in. There are a few times when we have gotten our room immediately. My guess, in January you'll have a better chance getting in early because of less crowds.

Last June we didn't get into our BWV studio until 5:00....but Sunday of President's weekend, we got into our VWL 1br at 12:00 noon!!!

I've had a room ready as early as 9am, and as late as 4:30pm at OKW. I had two studios reserved this January, one was ready (smoking) when we arrived at 1:30, the other (non-smoking) wasn't ready until 4.

Jan 2001 1 BR BWV we didn't arrive till 6 pm and room was ready

Aug 2001 1BR BWV we drove down and got in much earlier on Sun morning (9 am) than we had planned - I was trying to figure what we would need for the parks, where to put our cooler, etc when my 10 year old said "why don't you call and see if our room is ready?" I said I would try -- the desk clerk said she doubted it, but would check. Guess what? we were in our villa before 9:30am. Desk clerk was expecting us when we arrived - it was great!

Dec 2001 1 BR VWL - we were not able to get in until 3:30.

We've always had our villa ready when we arrived. But since we drive, we always try to plan our arrive around 4pm or later. The only thing we do on check-in day is grocery shop and hit the pool.

must've been the pixie dust after disembarking from our 7 day Magic cruise last Saturday (2/23), but we left the port and checked into our room at Boardwalk at 11 am!!! We were so happy because our 3 y/o had a few too many late nights/early mornings/busy days playing on the boat and desperately needed a good nap!

July, 2001 BWV studio was ready at arrival at 1 pm.
January, 2002 BWV studio was not available until 4 pm.
